Spare tire
Question for people have order without the spare tire kit or in Canada (this option does not exist here)
I will put non-RFT Winter tires and later will use non-RFT in the summer. My X5 does not have the spare kits (just storage). I do not want to put the summer tire/rim in the back as it will have to be above storage lid and will be loose (dangerous on emergency braking). What are my options? Is there a way to retrofit the spare tire kit? if I do not nothing and get a flat tire on the highway, what service should I expect from BMW road-side? |

I have RFT summer tires and just purchased a set of non-RFT snow tires. Decided to purchase the BMW tire repair kit with pump at, http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Genuine-Fa.../dp/B000P5JO5M
It was one of the few kits that could actually inflate a 255/50/19 tire. I keep it in the storage compartment. |

I just bought a 2016 and the spare kit fits under the load floor perfectly. The shop that installed it said that on 2015's you have to partially deflate the spare to make it fit. I didn't need to modify anything and it fits quite snug.
