Also have you ran into any issues running 40's all around as opposed to the 45 up front and 40 in the rear? I had an issue with cruise control not functioning in my M6 when I ran with a different height the stock. Im hoping to keep the 20's as my dedicated winter wheel set up and either find a set of stock 21's that the dealers should've optioned out or a set of aftermarket wheels later on in the spring.
I haven't had any issues so far. Since it's the Winter package that BMW recommends, I assume there shouldn't be any issues. As far as possible issues with the stock 20" 611M wheels and a Winter square set up, I'm not sure. Maybe JNoSol will chime in, he has a lot of knowledge about wheels and tires.
As long as the rotational diameter of the front and rear are the same (regardless of it's staggered or square), it will not throw a code for xDrive vehicles.

fantastic photos by your friend and nice posing by you! car/truck looks fantastic. I was surprised how well my 335i (rwd) did in snow with blizzaks. I'm sure an x5 on winter tires is a blast.

I like how (it appears) you have a shovel in the. back jusssst in case.

thanks for sharing the pics and congrats for making the front page

Lol, yeah, I brought a shovel, just in case! I didn't realize it would show up in the photos until after I saw the shots.

Your Right, got confused since thats the same on my M6 but with 19's. Thanks!

Thank you! But thats what was confusing since he's running 40's all around I assumed the rotational diameter was different from stock but I guess theres more to it.

it's the same.... Example, 275/40/20 has the same rotation diameter as 315/35/20... The middle digit is the aspect ratio to the width of the tire.
