id6

for those of you that haven't used bimmercode to upgrade your id5 to id6, i would highly recommend it. Did it yesterday and it's so much more better looking and seems more intuitive.

You went from 4 to 6? or 5 to 6? Whats involved? Dl the app, pay a fee and flash via OBD adapter? How much? Did you lose any functionality?

thanks

I'm not even sure which one I have on my car cause everything works so nicely I never touched a thing for years.... isn't there a certain number you'll have in settings to tell ID5 apart from ID6-7?

I have a 2017 x5m, which is nbt evo id5. Using BimmerCode I changed the setting to id6 lite which gives the refreshed interface with live tiles. I used my obd adapter and the BimmerCode app in expert mode to make the chabge

Oh so it only work for 17+ or it can possibly work on 15-16?

I think it’s a hardware change after model year 16. So for 16s and earlier I don’t believe u can do it

I've seen the id6 option in BimmerCode expert modes. I may give this a try. Do you have pictures of the end results.

Can you share the options that need to be changed in BimmerCode? I tried previously but didn't have any luck on my '17 F85.

Sure, I went in to the headunit module, then expert mode, then 3000HMI, then look for HMI_ID_VERSION.

There is another module that looks similar, but you have to go to the above selection.

Expert mode is not as scary as it sounds.

Once you enable expert mode, follow these steps:

HU_NBT >
3000>
HMI_ID_VERSION >
CHANGE "id5_plus_plus" to "id6_lite"

Tap Code when you're done and you'll be good to go.

Tried this today. Quick and simple, Id6 lite is very nice. Thanks!
