^^^ That does seem pricey. Coding for the brakes should be included in the purchase of the MPBK. My dealer didn't charge me for the sports brake coding (was just done last week). Perhaps Alan or Kzang can chime in? You have the fronts only, did you piece-meal the components together, or buy used? Or have you had the rears sitting on the shelf since?
The rears (barring no issues) should take no longer than 2 hours to install, this would include time to bleed. Road test and bedding the pads would be on top of that. Only reason mine took longer was that I had to fight with a seized spacer and a pad issue from Carbotech.

I purchased the fronts separately from a forum member. Have had them on for a few thousand miles. He had parsed out the rears to someone else prior to be buying. Got a very good deal on them and did not see a huge upgrade going with the rears.
I just recently transacted for a full MPBK set that was less than buying rears piecemeal. low miles. Thus looking to put the rears on now to make complete. I agree, as I stated my Indy guy put on fronts with bleed in 2 1/4 hours and charged me $200. He is a good guy and have given him business past 10 years. My go to remote coding guy told me it isn't a long ordeal for me to hook my laptop up for him to code it. I don't know where these a##holes get off saying this stuff could take 3-4 hours just for coding. I guess they cover their ass if they f*ck up. But the $950+ guy told me it would take at least 4 hours for the install. Plus another 3 for coding. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL. |

I coded my car myself with the help of shawnsheridan. Once we new what value to code the process takes less than 10mins.

I've seen them for 525-550 shipped for the pair. I was in process of ordering them and decided that if I did not have cross drilled in back would look strange. This was on a 20% off sale in Summer.

I paid $431 CAD each for the F85/X5M front rotors through my local dealer. They also gave me a credit for $308 CAD each for the M Performance front rotors.

-F85 front rotors -Carbotech pads (on all corners) -MPBK rear rotors My dealer credited me back for the standard M Performance front rotors, as well as the front & rear pads. Keep in mind, I'm speaking in CAD...basically tack on +/-26% for currency exchange.

I was not able to find a US dealer that would credit the bits that would not be used in the BBK (solid rotors, heat shields, pads etc.). Each dealer stated I have to purchase the kit as a whole and then the X5M/F85 rotors separately and if I planned to use aftermarket pads I had to purchase the pads with the kit as it was priced "whole" not a la carte.
The price you posted is way better than what i paid just a few months back. If that person can get them for $173 I'd buy them all and resell them on ebay for double.

What I did was paid 6xxish for the F85 front rotors then I sold the solid rotors that came on the MPBK to a e70 X5M owner for 450. Win for him and me because the solid rotors also goes for $$$

same here, also i paid cash so it made life easier for all parties involved but i did not enjoy unloading nearly 300lbs of parts out of the trunk my LR and into the garage. this kit is massive and heavy as all hell... it makes the oem bbk for my f31 and m3 look like brakes for a child's go-kart.

Yes mine shipped from the dealer on a damn wood palette in a box that weighed over 200lbs. It was a fun morning when i had to move everything from the driveway into my house right before going to work....

so true! The surface area on the front pads alone...the pads look are almost as wide as they are long!

Won't hurt to try it and it has worked for people before.

Thx for the advice, I'll give it a try along with applying the anti-squeal paste if it worked out fine then fair enough if not I'll proceed with the carbotech pads.

If my description is confusing, just bevel them all, a little bit won't hurt performance. If I had any skills at making marks on a picture to point it out I would. However, I don't...
