I love that option, but I switched off column and seat memory adjustment on entry/exit - simply because that's a fast forward way to get yourself a dead steering column and seat. Sure if you are under warranty, but mine ends in March and it's just my luck that things won't break until warranty is done lol. And even with warranty - check the threads about steering column been slightly off center and car never drove same again after warranty replacement. Not going to venture into this never ending headache only to get easy exit/entry
So I'll pass on that one

Why not enjoy it while it works? If it fails, can you not just opt not to fix and essentially have uncoded seats?

Yes, but what if it brakes in the most recessed position (seat and/or steering column) - that will make driving hell and I'll have to fix it from my own pocket. Couple owners here have had steering column stop working in the morning when they first started the car - steering column just didn't move and stayed in the most up and retracted position - this will be fun to drive

That been said - I don't think seat control will brake, unlike steering column faults, seats are so far proven without issues (knocking on the wood)

using the same logic one could say you should never fold your mirrors or open the hatch since one day it will fail and you'll have to repair it out of pocket. buy it, use it, repair it if necessary.

Agree. With the only exception been steering column - there's a real reliability issue well documented on forum - mine is making noises when moving already. However, I agree, if you are under warranty and enjoy this feature - then by all means use it

mine happened exactly at the 1yr anniversary.
i believe daily drivers may experience this failure sooner.
shame bmw has not found a permanent resolution to this issue.

My steering wheel/column failed at start-up at the most recessed position. It would still go up and down but not out. Was covered under warranty but had it not been covered by it, dealer said it would cost a fortune to replace. Also, i had to drive my car daily, barely reaching the steering wheel for a few weeks until the parts arrived. How can anyone find this option useful is beyond me. After the car was fixed, i disabled this option trough coding and i would not have it any other way. While i was at it, i disabled the seat adjustment as well and still no regrets.

Did some coding today through e-sys, been looking around, how do I turn off the steering wheel tilt. Can some give me the exact functions, I found a few for the e70 but nothing exact for the f15/25.

Thanks

Mine was coded out together when I flashed DMEs so I wish I knew exact lines - I would gladly help

Maybe Almaretto can chime in, he knows more about coding

For F15 set the following to "Aktiv":
BDC Body -- V_MAX_AKTIVER_EINSTIEG_AKTIV
BDC Body -- V_MAX_DEAKTIVIER_EINSTIEG_AKTIV

Then check that the following have: wert_01 = 00 00
BDC Body -- V_MAX_AKTIVIERUNG_EINSTIEG
BDC Body -- V_MAX_DEAKTIVIER_EINSTIEG

Thanks for all the input, but I'd like to get the seats to also move down to the lowest setting (the wife is short and struggles getting in).

I know that you can program each axis separately, but does anyone know how to code the different axis'?
