Wow these things are huge...

Fronts went smooth as can be. The brakenetic rotors fit perfect and have the holes for the brake rotor retainer Allen head bolt. These brembos are giant!

Rears got a little complicated. I don't know if it's a 35i thing ; but my backing plates needed to be replaced. The existing ones are too small and had to be modified (for now) to accommodate the larger rotor. They would have rubbed and would have had to be bent back to accommodate the rotor sitting properly. I did not realize this before the project; so we ground down the lip on the backing plate for now. I will revisit this at a later time when the new ones come in.

The X5m brake calipers are the same size as the 35i ; but the pad is significantly more pronounced; it has more of a bite than the 35i. The bracket mounts directly like the old bracket but accommodates the larger rotor perfectly. Again, the retainer screws worked in the rear rotors too; using your existing screw. This was perfect on the front and rear; which was nice to be able to secure the rotor with the existing bolts and not have to fight them getting everything installed.

I painted my rears black to match the front brembos.

I pushed a liter and a half of fresh fluid through the system and got a really good bleed on the system. Pedal feels good; but seems a little weaker. I will go to the dealer next week and get them coded so this will stiffen up.

Did a spark plug and coil tune up at the same time; what a giant pain in the butt getting to the last three plugs... you have to remove quite a bit of stuff to get at them. Make sure you get your thin walled 14pt socket also; it's the only way to get the plugs out!

Can't wait to get my 599 wheels on in a couple weeks to better show these puppies off!

The brembos swallow up 99.9% of my stock 19 inch wheels; clearance is mere millimeters in most spots!
Do you mind posting a final picture with your 19"s? Just curious how it looks.

Forgive the extremely dirty car; just got back from a long trip and haven't had time to give her a proper bath!

To those who bought a new complete M-sport Kit, what brake lines did you get with the kit, if any?
Were you able to use the OE brake lines with the calipers?

Yes you can use oem brake lines. All brake lines are the same. Just differ in length. I got SS ones but it's not necessary by any means. For me it's just as easy to replace with it all being apart anyway.

The SS lines you got are from ECS, or did the brake kit from ECS come with lines?

Hmm didn't think Zimmerman makes rotors for the MP calipers. May want to double check that. The oem rotors are on the first page. And you don't need new screws as the ones on your car will work just fine on the new rotor hats.

Hi, i found this brakes kit (it was a X5M E70). It completed with rotors and pads (but I will order new rotors Zimmerman with hole and NEW pads)
The pad is better new?
The price for the kit 700 euro, is a good price?
Now I clean caliber and in the next day I will paint with blue Msport colour 😉.
Thank and I’m sorry to my English

In my opinion I would get new pads as the old ones may squeak. I got mine in 2018 and they're squeak free. Perhaps E70 pads you bought are also squeak free. 700 eur for me sounds like a good deal

The protection plates are different with my original brakes system (30d).

For the Front brakes, can I modified the actual plates or I should buy new plates?

Thanks
