My F15 X5 build (upgrades thread)

Hello guys!!!

I bought this car in Nov 2018, and I made some changes to it. I am creating this post to show them the changes and receive some recommendations.
English is not my native language, so I try to do my best.
I thank Violator , his post was the inspiration to start modifying my x5

I own a 2015 F15 30d (yes, DIESEL) xLine, color Imperial Blue Brilliant Effect (A89) with Terra Dakota Interior (LCB8).

So here is my list:
- Coding everything (i use Bimmercode with BT adapter) ( https://bimmercode.app/ )
- Blackout all chrome (i don't know how)
- Quit the stock telephone car accessory (Cradle on center console) ( https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...hlight=console )
- Bmw double-slat gloss black kidney Grille ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )
- BMW Android touchscreen with Carplay ( https://avinusa.com/10-25-bmw-x5-x6-...on-system.html )
- Carbon mods inside (maybe)
-Change Rims to 20 or 21 and paint it black!

Beautiful car! Love the exterior color, bigger wheels will definitely change the total look of the car. Congrats on the purchase and the upgrades! Can't wait to see pics with the mods!!

What “look” are you going for?

What do you mean by “quit the stock car accessory (candle on center console)?”

Do you plan to do any mods to the engine?

Congrats on your new x5. Mine is also imperial blue. I already blacked out the chrome and it looks even better and more aggressive.

Ahhhhh, ok. I removed mine as well. I ordered the telephone cradle delete kit from r33_RGSport and did it while installing the knee-pads.

More black is always good! I suggest to debadge it as well, less chrome and cleaner look.
If you’re feeling confident in your spray paint skills you can remove the roundels and blacken them with gloss black or order a set from iND.

Of course. Here's a few. As for debadging like Violator said, personally I'm not a fan but I do like the cleaner look. I was able to achieve it by blacking out all the badges and it gives off a very "debadged like" clean look.

How can I blackout the chrome lines in my x5? Is it just a paint job or replacement with the new ones?

I simply used matte vinyl wrap. I believe it was Vivid that made one wide enough for the back piece.

If you do it yourself, i would strong discourage taking the lower door window trims off, they are extremely difficult to put back on. The easy ones are back piece, and top pieces.

To your surprise, i wrapped my kidney grills... Though i would not recommend wrapping them to ANYONE they were an extreme PITA. I had to re-do several times and stretch the vinyl almost to ripping point. I would opt for buying new ones if i had to re-do again.
