Don't really see any performance differences between F85 and F95 they have same engine and same transmission only difference is remodeled design and tech.

Love this third gen though. Haven't seen in person.

Not sure about all digital dash. I like my analog speedo and tach.

I have Dinan stage 1 so can't imaging anything much faster truth be told....

F86 rear tires are 325s, which I love the steamroller character it delivers.
ditto for me. i don't really care for the all digital dashboard or for the huge front kidney grills.

I find the interior of the F95 to be goofy and less classy. Even my 14 year old agrees. Those LED speaker lights...just wow. Digital gauges... knobs and buttons and switches everywhere. You've gotta check out some of the interior pics from the F95 to believe it. It's like stepping into an attempt at a "futuristic" BMW. I'm keeping my F85 for 4 more years, and then I'll need to look elsewhere.

With the light show going on in the F95 the interior no longer looks/feels like an airplane interior. Now it looks like a disco dance hall. I hate disco.

looks more like an arcade than the inside of a sports car.

I'm still very much in love with My F85.. if I go for another SAV I might be jumping ship from bimmer as a hole.

Just looking @ it from a block away gives me the chills.. damn thing look so good it should be faster and that's exactly what's going to take place in a few months..😉

The new X5M shares the same engine with the F90 M5.

Yeah and F90 shares same engine with F10 M5, M6 and F85 (F85 transmission is same as F90 just different tuning) There are no any internal changes between previous gen M v8's and current. Cooling systems, turbos and tunings are slight different.

You sure about that? A brief search says otherwise. I know it doesn't have the problem of crashing HPFP like the S63TU because of the revised camshaft lobes with the new HPFP.

Absolutely, not.

1) Looks
2) Massive depreciation of a new car
3) Same car, different packaging

The way i look at is this, my personnal chassis is nearly 52 yrs old and in no way do i consider myself old tech, outdated or obsolete.

Why then do we view our amazing 2/3/4 yr old cars in that way?

Bonkers isnt it
😁

I would like to see a true old vs new review by one of the motoring journalists rather than the BMW have paid to bring you all out to Arizona to do a test.

I look at my F85 and think it looks meaner from the rear and I still have the problem that all BMW's look the same on the inside now and you don't have real buttons anymore.

To the extent that S63B44T4 and S63B44T2 share the same fundamental design, yes. But no, they are not the same engine. DME, turbo compressor, wastegate actuator, cooling, etc., are all important differences. Car's transmission is also different.

Lots of links on the Net and this forum that cover this, e.g.
https://f10.m5post.com/forums/attach...4&d=1575301795
https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1673794

Beyond the engine, there are other things worth considering like the latest safety tech, interior design and more.

No doubt the F85/6 are great cars. But there's also no question BMW has improved the engine and transmission since they came out.

Agreed, but we are talking about performance aspect and engineering of the drivetrain which is there is no big change, regarding extra bells and whistles revised cooling system which i already mentioned it, of course they need to offer something in new models right? To give a reason for people to upgrade don't get me wrong I like new generation models all the tech in it but as a car enthusiast i don't think for me it's worth it to upgrade to F95 i wont gain anything, these corporates wants us to change our cars just like smartphones. I think combustion engine cars already reached their plateau there is nothing impressive to offer anymore, you will just get the same candy in different coatings. That's it.

That's a good way of summarising it.
