CarPlay volume way too loud?

Hey guys, been using Waze a lot through CarPlay.

Radio or USB music will be on 25% volume or so, Waze notifications are probably 2x louder and insanely annoying. Is there any way to lower the Waze specific volume? I only see an option to turn if off completely and then I miss turns. I wish the turn by turn for Waze would work in the HUD

hit the search button, then settings in upper left, then sound & voice then app volume and mess with that. I found the default female voice is very loud, if I switch to Randy or Nathan for instance at the same volume it's far quieter.
