Got it thanks, do you mind posting what was the part number or how to identify “newer” version which will work with HUD?

Well got mine installed today, looks amazing but I have one question about the navigation directions, I coded HU_NBT and i see directions on my head up display like i used to before with my old 6WA cluster. Is this a normal behavior or I need to do something else so they show up on the new cluster as well?

Not to mention seems like the 40e was the only x5 other than the M that you could not get the digital cluster for,
Wonder if you could code it and it work but just not show how many miles you can go in electric .... hmmmm Anybody think it would work in a 40e ? |

On another forum there was a guy who tried to retrofit the 6WB cluster on his 530e (i think) and that was the result. |

Can someone tell me what the little red area of the speedo is? It's typically somewhere around the 70mph range when I notice it, but I wasn't on the freeway when I took this picture. It could be my imagination but I think it appears after at least moderate acceleration, and disappears after some coasting?

Hello! New to this forum and need help please. The instrument cluster on my X5 2014 F15 has an issue where the turn indicators don't light up on the cluster but work fine outside on the car. BMW have advised replacing the cluster. Has anyone experienced this issue before? Can I retrofit a 6WB cluster onto a 2014 X5 xdrive50i? Anyone here that can help with coding if I do a diy job on the cluster replacement? Any help would be appreciated.!

You can't just buy used 6WB cluster and plug it in, you will have problems with mileage as well as you will get the temper protection dot etc., so used cluster needs to be "reset" and for newer versions your VIN needs to be added to the clutser, this process called virginizing. Unless you are buying a brand new cluster from the dealer, which is quite expensive.
