X5D burning oil
My car as 120k miles. Just started burning oil at a high rate (1qt per 1500 miles). Thoughts? Using 0W-30. No leaks. Where do I start looking?
Thx

Since you mentioned it just started, I would agree with Red and think you might have a leak somewhere. However, 1qt per 1.5k miles doesn't seem too extreme. What brand oil?
Assume this is a 2016-2018 X5d? I believe BMW switched to the 0w-30 (LL-12) during those years for a pinch more of fuel savings. Since you are in TX, you could switch to a 5w-30 (LL-04) to see if that helps. |

Are you getting any smoke on startup or acceleration? Turbo oil seals maybe?

Not that this answers your question, but if it were a Harley, 1Qt in 1500 miles would be perfectly acceptable.
