Supposedly Need a New Amp…

Hey Guys, owner of a diesel F30 and 5.0i F15 here, but this post is about my aunts 2013 X6. Pretty sure it's 5.0i.

She told me that she needs a new amp. I've personally never seen an amp just break like that, so wanted to post and see if there is something else that should be checked before just replacing the amp. The car from the start was a lemon. Constantly in the dealership shop. She bought it brand new in 2012. Motor was replaced by the dealership at like 60k miles. Etc…

Anyways, what else can I test before replacing her amp for her.

If you are talking about 2013 X6 it would be E71 not F16, so might have a better luck in E70/E71 section. What makes your aunt believe that the amp is dead? What are the symptoms?

Hmm. I thought it was an f16. My bad. She just told me the amp is dead and dealer wants like 2k to replace it. I've never seen an amp just die like that. But her car has been a lemon from the beginning. So it wouldnt surprise me

Well just get a used amp off ebay for $300 and DIY it.
