How narrow of tire can we use on 20” stock set up

Hi all,
Does anyone know how narrow of a tire that can fit on the oem 20” set up for winter tires. Ive seen many run 275/315 with a staggered set up. My main concern is for the rear as I have some basically new winter tires but I’m afraid they may be too narrow for the width of the rim. I have a 265/295 for reference.

Your going to have to give more details. The 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 are ok because of the 1% or less variance among the tires. What size tires are you trying to run, we would need the full specs to let you know if it’s even possible for the x-drive. That is more of a concern than running a super stretched tire.

Hey man I would recommend against these tires. There is a 2.7% variance in tire diameter and I believe it should be 1% or less. This is mainly due to the Xdrive. I mean the tires would be super stretched and technically work on the wheels, but it is not safe for the X5M or the Xdrive. Hope that helps.
