I’m thinking it would only do that if your hotspot isn’t active ahead of turning on the car. Are you using hotspot or 4glte?

I'm using my phone. I will try a dedicated hotspot.

So I just tried CarPlay. I think it is awesome. I will use that exclusively I think. The only issue is that I can't get phone calls to work.

My setting screen looks nothing like that one. You got the newer version. I got all the options but it's laid out differently. Glad to hear you like it.

Screen seems to be same size imo.

Mine is buggy though. It has a habit of going black. The iDrive side works but not android. I might replace OEM and just get a wireless CarPlay device.

Might wanna take it to shop and have them reinstall it... did you get the right one? NBT or EVO?

I THINK I got it installed correctly. I mean it was working and does work, albeit intermittently. I just did a factory reset and will report back.

That's always my fear. Without a local distributor, you're on your own. Warranty claims from an overseas distributor gets killed by shipping costs to and fro, especially China.

Thats pretty much my experience. My advice would be going forward to buy it Avin. There based in California so they ship from California. While they don't have 720p and only 480p, if you never had 720p you won't miss it as its still an upgrade over OEM. And it's cheaper.

Did anyone install the GPS antenna that came with the unit? Another forum member suggested buying a splitter instead of using the supplied antenna. Thoughts?

I use the splitter, but others have used the provided antenna. I never used both but never heard any bad things about. How is it working for you now. Is it growing on you?

I am running the android antenna that came with the unit. Never had any issues. Navi works fine, no glitches.

For the Android sound you select AUX input under media but if you go back to original radio or other media everything plays as usual.

If you consider getting it I would contact the store first to ask any questions. Guy was really responsive. This is the same person/store that people on F15 forum.used.

Not sure what you mean. I did not touch the speakers. I use my original ones.

At least in my unit there was not additional speakers or speaker connections.

On the aftermarket harness there's a connection for to center speaker. I was told it needs to be connected, but I never did. Everything still works.

Thank you - they were quick - but the link has 4 options and I can't see which you ordered? I assume the "OS9 / OS10" is the version of android loaded on it correct? I also do not know what the Zlink is used for - I'm not scared of paying for it, I just don't want to pay for something I can't use? I did see the OS10 android Auto is "wired only" which kind of sucks, but it is what it is.

I ordered the last one. Zlink is the app that enables CarPlay. Not flawless but pretty good actually IMO.

Just to reinforce, zero lag with this product. It is pretty quick. I am going to get a dedicated wireless connection for it.

I also installed Nova launcher like SupersixM and like it quite a bit.
