Dual Zone Malfunction

It got cold quickly in Colorado this year.
While driving my 2015 X6M, both sides of the dual zone were set at the same temp (Sync selected). The passenger side was blowing warm air but the driver side was blowing cold air. A/C was not on. Outside air temp was 22 degrees.

Anybody else experience this?

Maybe the hot/cold dials for the center vents are on opposite settings?
