Hi guys,

quick one - has anybody installed it with a trailer coupling?

I just received mine, and i have a trailer coupling. I have difficulties to get it on. Seems the coupling needs to more space....

Perhaps you should start a new thread with this question, you'll have a better chance getting your question answered. There is a member on here with a tow hitch on his X5M.

Check out this company, I think they have it for the F85.

Thx,

My issue is not the coupling. This one was ordered from BMW, and works with the normal rear diffuser.

But not with the carbon :-(

There is not enough space for the coupling under the carbon diffuser.

Ahh.. I haven't seen anyone with the new X5M and tow hitch yet. You can post the photos of the clearance, perhaps others have suggestions for you.

The coupling push against the middle of the diffusor, now corner left and right gets too much pressure and the clips won't stay...

I think i need to get of this coupling...

Ouch. You may need to cut the diffuser if you want that tow hitch to fit.

You can try to use you finger to keep the plastic from moving while you snap the diffuser in.

Did you get the trailer coupling to work?

hi guys,

sorry delay

no it does not work. there is just not enough space for the coupling.

i have it on, left and right is the shown gap. it is fine, it holds as there are crews, but u are not able to put coupling out or the diffuser breaks.

i spoke with guys from bmw and asked to remove the coupling, but they said as the car is obviously eco modified they would not suggest that. they would need to deactivate the coupling also in the eco, and that could cause issues.

perhaps RW consider to offer a diffuser version for couplings x5m inf future....

Gotcha. I would doubt RW or anyone would make specialized diffuser for X5M with couplings.

Sweet, the fitment is awesome. Install is super easy.

IMHO, an X5M doesn't look complete without a CF diffuser. The OEM diffuser has those ugly fake honeycomb vents. It's an M, fake and non-functioning vents are not acceptable.
