I just put toyo observe snows on the OEM 20s. I wanted Nokians but toyo was all that could be found to fit the regular oem 20s. So far so good in the recent storm, but you can definitely break it loose if you try. I debated buying the factory snow setup which I guess has narrower rears, but decided I'd rather spend the money on 21s. I don't recommend spending money on 21 inch snow tires. I tried 3-4 different brands on my turbo s before giving in and buying a set of 20" wheels and tires. The ride quality and snow performance of the 21s was terrible. Just curious if anyone here has had trouble with snow accumulating in the 20s and causing wobble? I haven't yet but the wheel design is fairly open and allows snow to accumulate.

Agreed. Completely irresponsible for anyone to drive in winter conditions on summer performance tires. You can put those tires on the greatest 4x4 ever built - it won't matter.

Had you read the posts where in bold i explained that one , i live in NYC and don't commute, and two got caught in snow after driving a mile for an alignment on a Saturday, you may understand why it can happen and why at the bottom I IMPLORED PEOPLE IN BOLD TO INVEST IN SNOW TIRES. Countless x5m all wheel drive owners do not understand that all wheel drive does not mean you're safe. I appreciate you're incorrect, judgmental EXPERT opinion. You must work for MSNBC

No need to get defensive. I'm not being judgmental. What you did was irresponsible (this is correct). In all sincerity, I'm glad you recognized your error and have made a PSA for others. I'm not an expert on this matter - this is basic stuff.

I would avoid this guy ... rears actually use the same tire size, but the rim is 0.5in wider ... this guy is selling a set of all 4 front rims w/ correct tires.

just saying

I thought the same thing, but inspected them in person before purchasing... he just doesn't really know what he's selling. I suspect he looked at one rim (a front), note that all the tires are the same size and just assumed they were all the same.

Not sure if he was part of some dealer liquidation auction or has someone selling to him at wholesale, but he has a ton of OEM stuff for sale. I think he sold his most recent set for $2700 to jettie1767 (I paid $3100).

I use the 19s winters on my 2014 x6m and they are perfect and are enjoyable. They fit over the large front brake calipers fine. I heard that they won't fit on the new x6m but the guys at my BMW dealer can't confirm that. I should get my new car in a month or so (still waiting for the production number) and will confirm.

I think someone in the 'winter' thread attempted fitting the OEM E70 winter set and they didn't clear the brake shields.

I have fitted my 19" OEM F15 winter wheels / tyres, there is a good 1/2 inch of clearance over the front brake callipers (more on the rears). BMW said they wouldn't fit, but I think they just go off the parts list and never try these things.

Yes, wheels are correct and are marked properly when I bought them. I had the fronts and rears marked including the rotational direction for each.

Just to close the loop on this. I got my 2017 x6m in March and my 19' winter wheels that I used for my 2014 x6m fit fine.

Do you have the wheel kit number? If it works, I might keep my 298m winter kit of the e70m for when I buy my next f85 beside having to adjust the bore size

My winters are not BMW wheels. I will have to look them up. I originally bought them as a winter set for my 2011 x6 5.0 and used them again on my 2014 x6M.
