M5 front rotors
Can anyone confirm fitment of M5 front rotors with 611 winters and donut/spare?
Background: M5 rotors are larger and lighter than F85/6 rotors and are bolt on. They do require an adapter to adjust caliper positioning. With my front pads at 3mm my front brakes need some attention soon and might be interest in moving to M5 rotors. Purely and aesthetic play that may satisfy my urge to tinker. |

Yes you can, but you do need an adapter for the callipers. You wont notice that extra 5mm.
For aesthetics, you'll be better of with doing the rear brake upgrade. Check out Tony's kit for this, a few of the members are running it. |

Thanks guys. I’m assuming the cost difference between the rotors are negligible so I’m only considering the fronts for now. I’m sure the adapter will set me back a couple hundo, but again, it’s a chance to satisfy the urge to tinker.
The dealer did a fresh replacement of the rear rotors and pads before my purchase so it’s harder to justify making the move to a solid rear just yet. |

I installed M5 calipers and rotors using the euro adapters and am very happy with the added performance (I’ve got an F15 35d) and the looks are killer compared to the stock floaters. Definitely requires minimum 20” wheels. Will be doing the rears as well (as much for balanced looks as performance).
