Exclamation Digital Display Cluster Mod problems

Hi All,

I had the 6WB digital cluster installed yesterday. I purchased a refurbished cluster from EuroActiv. The install went pretty smoothly but before the mod my car had 776 miles on it. After the mod the mileage displayed as 7,684! In talking with Justin from EuroActiv this wasn’t known that it would happen but now the mileage on my car displays inaccurately. I was told if I plugged in the old display it would use the miles it shows now rather than reverting.

How do I get my mileage corrected?? I was told even buying a new cluster now it won’t fix it because the car will always show the higher mileage now and that I need to keep m old display as documentation. Anyways I am pretty disappointed and wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

[Update 12/18/18]

Apparently there is a 6WB cluster that works with a HUD and one that works without. The first cluster I received was not for a HUD. I wasn’t even asked but I received a second cluster and had it installed yesterday and the HUD works again. The mileage still displays incorrectly. I show on the cluster about 8900 miles but my car should have less than 2200. I am ping to make an appointment with m local dealer and see if there’s anything they can do. The maintenence still shows an oil change due in over 6000 miles whereas if the car really had 8900 miles it would show much sooner. I don’t know how to fix this but I’m hoping it an be done somehow that doesn’t cause me to have to go after EuroActiv. Just a heads up anyone wanting o do his mod, don’t buy a refurbished cluster and make sure ou tell them if you have a HUD!

It sounds like the "refurbished" cluster wasn't fully refurbished in the sense that previous mileage data was cleared. I would take it up with EuroActiv. The car will always take the higher mileage of any out-of-sync components.

EuroActiv should be responsible. How they would make it right is the question. Now you'll have to deal with this in the future explaining the mileage when its time to sell the car. Definitely sucks!

I would be livid if my mileage jumped from 7XX to 7XXX! Definitely take it up with EuroActive.

Good luck, and I hope they are able to trouble-shoot this for you.

Justin from EuroActiv was helpful, paid for coding and second install but am pretty disappointed with this experience.

I hope you get his fixed. Odometer discrepancy problems will make resale a bitch and not you lose a lot of your warranty.
