"Increased Steering Effort" Fault?

every few days my wife is getting the above fault light up on the screen, and it says to drive moderately, yet nothing changes with how the car drives. When she starts it up again next trip, it goes away and has never driven like it has a real fault. A BMW tech though it might be a sensor trip due to the ACS springs? Would that make sense, or does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks!

RM
