Coding your X5 the easy way

Is there an option to have the iDrive map auto zoom in on a turn as your speed slows. I thought I saw this once but am unable to find it now in BimmerCode?

I was looking for the nav to do the auto zoom and I tried coding that and it didn't work. It was also the first time using Bimmercode so I am not sure if I did it correctly. Some things worked, some didn't and this is one of the ones that didn't. Maybe there is something else that also needs to be coded. IDK

Next Best Thing Head Unit. Found on 2014-2016 X5.

2017-2018 got NBT2.

2019 has MGU.

Search for ensemble_layer...
if your software is compatible you can change 8 ensemble, 3 layers. Lots of Video online on the topic as well.

I can confirm this worked flawlessly for me, now I'm not sure if it depends on software version as previously mentioned I will post up my version when I get home to confirm. This however took me 30 seconds to code within BimmerCode:

- BDC > Expert Mode > search for line 3070
- Within 3070 > scroll down to the desired Ensamble which will have up to 10 layers below it, F15 utilizes only the first 3
- Example I changed my last 3 Ensembles as I was not using those color patterns, Layer 1 will be top led bar, 2 door handle, 3 lower area AND when I get home I'll also look into the top 2 LEDs in the ceiling panel that fire down that have the ability to change color as well, depending on color pattern, which could be coded as a higher Layer.
- After you select the color desired just code and that's it

Update: Currently on Software 002.255.073, Just checked BMW.com and 003.255.081 is available, contemplating upgrading not sure if I some codes will get relegated..

Update2: Nothing changed after update, all coding as is.

You can't code brightness. It's probably just the camera.

Nope, it's a combination of exposure on my end and also Ivory interior, ambient lighting will always pop more against a lighter surface.

I'd like some things changed in my '14 X5, such as: close tailgate and/or windows & sunroof w/remote, 4-5 blinks for lane change signal, autofold/open mirrors w/ignition off/on, change ambient lighting choices, and, if possible, turn off turn signal sooner when coming out of a turn (damn thing stays on too long and makes it look like I'm going keep turning).

I'm tech savvy, but I'd rather have an experienced coder do it for me because sometimes what seems simple turns out to be a bigger hassle than anticipated.

Anyone in FL? I almost got the coding app but at the time it didn't seem to do anything worthwhile for my car.

OMT, can the dealer tell if the coding was changed? Does it affect warranties? What about when I sell it? I'll be ordering the 2020. Thanks!

I just had my 18 F15 at the dealer, they updated software and they didn't say anything about any coding which I had quite few

I have recently got my car back from dealership and they had updated software to TN.003 and noticed all of my MODs were erased. I was able to get almost everything back from via BimmerCode except for 2.

1). Turn off iDrive after engine off, doors open doesn't work. I know have to push the button twice now to completely turn it off.

2). Ambient light, I was able to code it to Dynamic Blue but I do not see Lilac as option. Am I missing something? is Lilac a value? From everything I have read on here and cheat sheet sounded like it's a drop down or select value. Again, I don't see Lilac.

Lastly, any additional update on being able to code Dazzle LED via BimmerCode? easy mode or expert mode?

I coded d) with bimmercode app. You have to change the amount of time the lock button is held down to the minimum.

Is there a list of what can't be coded on NBT with latest Firmware? I know so far that the 3x blinker is one of them. I don't want to waste money on the app and BT adapter if I can't code what I want.

Yeah, sorry that's what I meant. I 5x blinker was one of the options I wanted to enable but now can't because of firmware. A list of other options I want are and hope not affected by latest firmware.

Trunk open/release from cabin and fob
"M Sport" Start up splash
Warning message delete at start up
Video in Motion/USB
Disable Fog Light when turning
Puddle lights in reverse

maybe a few others. I'm not planning on going crazy with it so Don't need the E-Sys option.
