Smoked taillights on this color look excellent.
Have mine still in the box precut, but am reluctant to install due to potential insurance issues.

You are right about insurance issues. They may claim that the stop lights or turn signals were not visible in case there is an accident. Also, depending on where you live, the cops may be interested to stop you and give tickets to increase municipal revenue.
But, it does look very nice. Depending on the vinyl, no one may be able to tell that they are tinted because some vinyls are letting a lot of light thru and a lot of cars have "tinted looking" headlights and taillights from the factory.
One thing about pre-cut ones; The first ones that I have installed were pre-cut Lamin-X and they were a pain to install as the cut was exactly the size of the taillight and there is not enough vinyl to hold and pull over the edges especially around the bulge on the side of the lights and seal the edges. Very shortly after the install, they shrunk as expected and the edges started looking horrible. So, I uninstalled them and used sheets to install and cut them myself and sealed the edges, which was much better.

Nice to know, as I did get the Lamin-X ones.
Still sitting in a closed box languishing for over a year.
Was thinking of adding dash cams to "counteract" for possible rear-end collisions.
But I did not want to spend extra $100s for them, so I backed off altogether.
Mine are gunsmoke, so lighter.

The ones on the pic is gunsmoke as well. I have two dashcams @$40 each - one on the windshield one on the back.
