Any other Turbos beside Pure?
What other Turbos options, other than Pure Turbos for the X5?
Looking for a stage 3 kit Not going pure stage 2 due to having to run pure turbo at 100% and prob still won’t achieve power goals … Need a kit capable of 800hp Ok with turbo lag as I need to get moving before it kicks in due to traction and break less … |

Have a look at Doc Race or 4N, have heard they make some nice kits.
A side question, how built is your bottom or how exited are you in seeing it? Because at that power level, I would bet you will get an answer to both. Last edited by Chilled; 02-03-2023 at 06:31 PM.. |

Chilled, I only plan on around 5-550 on stock.
I’m going to build a closed deck fully forged donor to drop in. I’m not dumb… just a little crazy. I just want a turbo set up that can handle both of what I want. |

I went with the Mosselman N55 EWG unit, getting installed the week after next with a whole host of supporting mods. I’m one of their first testers so shooting for about 500-550whp on E50.
I’ll keep you posted!

Is it a stage 2 or stage 3 turbo?
What’s it upper limit ? The reason I’m not doing pure is the stage 2 kit, pump gas 93 can’t support the numbers I want and will be running at 100% A stage 3 won’t produce the heat and octane need as it can move more air with less pressure (psi) |

It’s more like a Stage 2 because they say it maxes out at 600whp.
You might want to hit up Big Boost Turbo, he makes a complete custom bmw kit with Garrett’s , bigger manifolds and so on. That’s more of a complete Stage 3 kit.

I would say if you are going all out, try to push past the 1000 mark. At 800 you faster than a stock f10/slightly tuned but a f90 will be right there with you. |

Sub'd for more discoveries on this. Mine's ready for the next step, too. With holidays coming, I am strongly considering doing the bigger turbo or taking on the 3D Printing hobby coming up. Looking for more reasons to lean this way more.

A forum member , Nafis, is running a BigBoost kit; I’m running a Mosselman Turbo Systems setup, X5Brian is going with a Pure750. Then there’s The Turbo Engineers, Ladermanufaktur and so on.
There’s no shortage of options if you dig into the research.

So honestly …. Went with the pure750 after some friends had both bigboost and the pure. Bigboost is “lazy” with a lot of lag from what I hear and a couples videos I have watched. Btw I’m not knocking it!
I should have mine installed before Christmas. We will be installing in my garage, filming and photos for our new car apparel brand that launches this Friday online. I have already bought the dourche stage 2.5 HPFP Stage 2 lpfp Bms aluminum intake Arc terminator cooling kit for the EPKM3 Pure 750 High flow inlet Building my own intake to turbo )front mount for less tubing and higher flow Having 3.5” exhaust custom built from cat back, including cutting cat outlet and welding 3.5” exit for true 3.5” exhaust Doing a 3.5” dump … you know I had to… Oil cooling has already been done. I run around 180 at all times Coolant is around 170-200 max (track mode brings it down to 160-180) Trans will get a aluminum PPE pan and will weld AN bungs for lines to a constant pump and front mounted cooler. Will only circulate above 165 to cooler. Trying to keep it under 180 and above 150. Right now I’m at 170-200. Studies show 170 is best for most transmission life. I’m sure much more to come as well |

So the pure750 is installed. Great daily drivability, no difference noticed. Makes boost starting at 2k, full boost at 3k, and I mean holy crap power at 3k… head to dyno tune tomorrow
