Lease Return Questions
Lease return is in about 6 months. When I got the X5 I debadged it and I upgraded my 19" M sport wheels to 20" bmw wheels. I am assuming I need to put the badges back on but can I get away with turning in the vehicle with the better wheels?
Has anyone done this? |

Badges can stay off and as long as the "better wheels" is oem and specific for the F15 trim level, it is perfectly fine. If you want to spend the time to replace the badges it is fine too

Lease return policy is simple.
If you return the car with any mods that doesn't alter the overall vehicle, it is your loss. If it alter the overall vehicle, then you will be charged. Missing badges doesn't count as an alteration to the vehicle. And upgraded wheel would be your loss as long as it is BMW wheels. If you return with aftermarket wheel, I believe there is a penalty to it.

You should consider selling the 599M to someone looking for an upgrade from 19" or 20" OEM and make some $$.

I have a question for you as well Just got my X5 a few weeks ago and swapped out the Pirellis for DWS06 (20") Do you know if I can get away with returning them with DWS06 or will I get charged because they are non-runflat? Also how much would I get charged? Thanks!

How much? It will depend on the situation. If you are getting another BMW, you may be able to get away partially. If not, it would depend on the market price of the tires. My suggestion, keep the OE tire and throw it back on when you are returning the car.

Like Ben mentioned, some dealers will eat the costs as long as you are leasing another BMW from them. So lot of the wear and tear or non OEM equipment like tires and accessories are always negotiable as long as you have the upper hand (leasing/buying another BMW).
