Have taken 2 days to go through this thread, like watches not into a specific brand but how it looks and says a statement, these so far are my favorites.

I have the gold coloured version with dark brown strap which looked smarter than the blue in real life. Limited to 188 pieces worldwide.

Any vintage Heuer collectors in here? I'm getting ready to list it on eBay. Its very nice and fairly rair.

My dad is a Heuer junky and just sold 'Siffert'. Incredible chrono.... very hard to find! Sad it is gone as it was supposed to be passed along to me.

If anyone is interested in a very nice vintage HHeuer Chrono email me Tjkeller gmail

Here's the same watch on eBay (not my listing) except mine has a white face.

The same kind I sport when doing anything else. One of two Victorinox Ambassadors.

I don't sail, scuba dive, fly planes, or race cars, and in the age of the smartphone, I don't need anything ultra-accurate. What I want from a watch is the time and date at the briefest of glances. Anything that gets in the way of that, I don't want. That eliminates chronographs, moon phases, GMT, see-through or highly decorative dials, etc.; they make the watch busier and harder to read at a glance. I also want the fewest buttons/crowns possible. I want a plain face, Arabic numerals, a date, a leather or rubber band, and a sapphire crystal.

Maybe one of these days I'll get an ultra-thin, premium watch that fits that description (recommendations welcome), but I've really got no complaints about the watches I have now.

thanks. although I have many watches that PAM 93 is likely my favorite.
one of my earliest purchases
at the time, I'd never heard of Panerai.
bought preowned at my regular jeweler.
loved the blue dial, the power reserve and the crown guard.
turned out to be a great purchase; may even be worth more than I paid.

Never heard of Panerai until this thread. Curious what mes Panerai a food watch other than unique style? In my research on my luxury watch upgrade it doesn't come up that often.

Im sure the mechanical aspects of your watch are incredible. But i feel like if im gonna spend thousands on a seiko then i dont want it to look like the $60 seikos they sell

in short, brand value. it is one of very few italian watch makers (Glycine being the other well known one). Unlike most swiss brands that are synonymous with luxury, Panerai's heritage is military, which is why it doesnt necessarily come up. it didnt become a luxury label until fairly recently (within the last 20yrs or so). the watch styling is quite unique, which makes it easily recognizable (much like a rolex stands out among other divers)

they arent necessarily known for their movements, and they dont have fancy models with tourbillions or skeleton casings. they just have a nice, sophisticated look to them.

They do have skeleton and tourbillon models, but they are at the top of the price range for sure...

I guess style is a big part of it.
They are pretty unique.
Here's their store in Kowloon Hong Kong (not my pic)

Until maybe 10 years ago Panerai was never that popular because they were charging $5000+ for watches with standard or slightly modified ETA movements. It was until 2005 when they really pushed for inhouse movements

Moved over to the DSSD Blue recently. I like it a lot. The touch of blue catches my eye.
