The Key seems like it will scratch easily
I am concerned that the silver / aluminum part of my key will get all scratched up over the years with it in my pocket with my other keys. I also read on this forum about how the BMW leather case that fits it is quite thick in one's pocket. Jokes aside about that:
Any comments about the scratching or the leather case?

Yes, I have a spare key. I don't want either key scratched if avoidable.

Honestly, there's barely any silver to worry about, IMO. We have nothing on ours and both keys are tossed in and out of drawers, my wife's purses or diaper bags, etc. no scratches so far, 4 months in..

I understand people are very passionate about how clean their car is or not doing anything which could possibly put a scratch on their car but this is a first I have ever heard somebody worry about thier keys getting scratched. I bet you could get some clear film to overlay on it if it is that big of an issue.
