What RFT tires did you install after original tires expired?

It's time to change tires on our 2015 BMW X5. What 20" run flat tires did you select? Very interested in everyone's opinion.

Going with non run flats. Already keep slime compressor and slime and repair plug kit.
My Dunlop’s RFs with 22,000 miles arewearing very well but noisy.
Will probably go to the Contis.

No run flats for me, I have a spare and as soon as my tire thread is low I am switching to regular tires. Runflats are more expensive, heavy, noisy and you can patch them once or twice may be (not every tire shop is going to patch them).

The X5 is my wife's car so run flat tires represent a reasonable compromise of convenience. Hoping to get simply better run flat tires.

The same exact situation as yours: Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires are getting noisy at 21K miles.

I have the pirrelli p zero on my x5 and they are pretty good for noise and ride, although I am sure non run flats would be better. But I don’t think there is a ton of difference between the run flats. If going all out where price is not a factor... Michelin PS4s, value would be conti extreme

My 2017 440i GC has Pirelli P Zero tires. Reasonably happy with these tires. Much better than Bridgestone Potenza S001.

Adding these to the list of candidates.

I had bridgestones on my X5 then i switch out to Michelin pilot sport AS3 (non RFT)

I like the appearance, it has thick blocky sidewall, gives it a very nice wide profile and aggressive appearance. Very good performance on dry and wet when the thread is > 7/32in (80% thread left). Also been a RFT tires are very solid will take corner with confidence. However they don't seem to last very long, you can get about 2yrs (2 summers) or 24k miles before it gets unbearably loud and noisy.

Honestly, can't tell the difference. That could speak to the good quality of both brands. With that said, I went with Bridgestones because the Pirellis are pricier. And Bridgestones are blockier, which looks real nice.

My X5 came with Bridgestone dueler summer tires.. I have 20's. This is the first car I've owned that has runflat tires.

If I switched to non-run flats Wendy's where out will I see increased mpg better handling etc. if I get non-RFT summer tires?

I kind a want to keep the run flats just for the safety - the X5 is my wife's car I'd rather not have her get stranded but at the same time...99% of our driving is in the city or in areas that are easily accessible by roadside assistance. And honestly I can't remember the last time I got a flat tire...

if I can save a bunch of money and make the cart perform better it be tempting to just deal with roadside assistance in case of a flat...

I get RFTs because the idea of getting a flat tire and having to pull over on the freeway is the last thing I want to deal with. And I don't find the ride to be uncomfortable at all. As for MPG stats RFTs vs. non-RFTs, I don't have the answer. I'll let other more knowledgeable members answer that for me

I'm about to pull the trigger on the AS 3's. Would you mind sending me a pic of them on your car?

After researching and comparing RFT tires, I decided to purchase Pirelli P Zero OEM RFT tires. The price was very good with end of the year incentives. I recognize these tires will last 20K miles at most.

My local BMW dealer matched Tirerack prices and Americas Tire best price and added $100 gift card. The convenience was worth it.
