I agree Found a nice 35i with msport and m adaptive suspension which was all I wanted really coudl do without the 50i. Ill still a Dinan on it will be same as b58 at that point.

50i was always over kill but yeah that Carfax scared me away fast. Real shame drove it and was really impressed.
Dont waste your money on dinan. Bloated and overrated. $$$$

How can you pull the service history?

You ask for it from the dealer, if they hesitate, walk. If they are reputable they will have without fuss.

The X5 I purchased had a battery change at 17000, I requested the service report to find out why. It's the easiest way to make sure your next vehicle is sorted.

BMW are stellar vehicles, truly as advertised. My first had some electrical gremlins, I didn't know that because I didn't do my due diligence, as an electrical engineer, I was able to find it. Once sorted, awesome car, since that, I've not had gremlins.

They really are performance driving machines! You will love it, do the maintenance as detailed here, you will be hooked.

Sorry I'm not able to address the X3 vs X5 part, im 6'5", love the fit of the 5.

Warranty doesn't cover dinan either. Dinan just provides a "warranty" themselves. Enjoy that process. But better believe just cuz bmw blames the damage in the tune doesn't mean Dinan is just gonna say oh ok sure. Here's a check. They're gonna fight like any insurance company to not pay you if it's not clear it's there fault. Lol

With that said haven't heard of a single issue from JB4 or RC chips EVER! And you can always just unhook them when you take them in for service. Or simply plug in the dummy plug and tick the wires away so the box isn't visible. What I've done for the last two years with no issues.

Both do the same thing which is increase the boost via a signal to the adjust the value of airflow. Dinan just charges you an arm and a leg for their name and pedigree. Oh ya and less power!

But hey do what you want. I'm not here to tell you what to pick just present the facts. It's your bank account and piece of mind.

Seems like Mppk is the best bet.

Dash creaks and a popping back lift gate. Other than that solid. First two issues, still not fixed after a year.

what you mean popping back lift gate? It just comes open on its own?

Dash Creaks? Like they got in there and fixed something and now you have noises?

I would run away from this.
I don't know. For example my own car if you run the CarFax, I think it would the same as the above, but in reality, some lady bumped my right rear, caused some scratches that buffed out.

Anyone compare this car to the Cayenne same year? Used they seem to be tracking same price.

The trim piece (passenger vent) is making creaking sounds over bumps or certain road textures; going in to get fixed next week (they will probably add some felt tape). This has been occurring over the last year, they have not worked on this issue.

Back lift gate has been problematic since purchase (new 2017). Has attempted to be fixed by dealer on two other occasions by simply adjusting bump stops. Still not fixed. Last I spoke with them when setting up the appointment, this is a common problem. They replaced all the seals, and had to actually have a tech from BMW NA come fix another customers X5.

I think Porsche is more reliable, but parts are more expensive.

- Agreed on the steering, not quite sure what it is, but it seems it has some dead spots, and it is a bit square also at times.

- Myself, I am really happy how quiet the cabin is, I ride on ContiDWS06s, very quiet ride.

- I have some persistent vibration, especially when the it is cold, it is more noticeable, have had it looked at several times and they blame the wheels being bent, but don't see it on the machine.

- On comfort setting, the throttle response is terrible, even after sw flush, it is downright dangerous at times when crossing traffic, moving over the Sport helps some, but even still, I wish it was more responsive, the turbolag is also pretty bad.

- The idrive controller has broken twice, but finally tossed the dust ring out, that is prone to break and it has been fine since.

- AC is an absolute joke, worst automation I have ever seen, and the fan motors simply do not move enough air.

Overall, it is very spacious, quiet, comfortable and the torque is intoxicating. I don't have m-adaptive or the air suspension, so it is a little on the soft side and it does sway, but the roads are so bad here, that it has been fine.
