Need some help

Komet Motorsports called me and said there has been an issue with being able to get a clean dyno run on 2016's.

Here is the issue:
When they run the dyno the gps senses that the car isn't going anywhere and basically puts the car in limp mode.

They have a few calls out to their contacts and a trouble ticket with BMW NA.

Does anyone here know of this issue and how to get a clean run?

He said they've done 2014's and 2015's but they believe something has changed with the 2016.

I'm scheduled to go there at 3pm central time but if we can't get an answer I'll have to cancel until we know something definitive.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

This is the first i've heard of this and doesn't make sense. What happens when the car is older and is due for emissions/inspection testings where it needs to be on a roller?

Yeah if it's true I'd chalk it up to those over-engineered Germans having to over think what if scenarios.

They told me MB has the same issue on a certain 2016 car too (didn't tell me which one).

I think we just need to dig into the details to figure out what's true and why.

Just did a quick search on the forum and on the web....nothing about 2016 dyno issues. Granted it could also be due to the cars being very new so the issue hasn't surfaced yet but I don't believe it for some reason. Just make sure you hold down the traction control button for 10 seconds to fully disable it to make sure there is nothing holding the car's performance back. I still think you should go.

FamilyMan , you need to set the car into dyno mode.
You do it from the instrument cluster trip reset button.
I don't have my F15 with me, so I this is the step on my 650GC with 6WB.
You hold it for 10 seconds, release and hold again for 10 seconds and it will show you the service reset menu, kept on pressing, then to the internal menu will show up. If it asking for unlock code, then unlock it with the sum of your last 7 of VIN.
Single press to cycle the menu, press and hold for selecting the menu.
Cycle through the menu until you see the Rolling Test menu or ESC (Off) menu then press and hold to confirm.

Here are the options I see:

1. Identification
2. System Test
3. Start Roller
4. Test End
10. Unlock

Do you know which one I should select?

Sport + mode
AC off
Shifter over to the left
Hold DTC button for 10 secs

Can't wait to hear your numbers. On the F10 forums the 535xi guys were only getting about 280-295whp with the JB stage 2 setup plus catless downpipes. I am hoping you make at least that amount.

First top left button. You need to hold it for 10 secs for it to be fully disabled. Not sure if its needed on a awd dyno session but it couldn't hurt
