Need help with 22" wheel offsets for 2016 X5
Hello All
I am new to the forum and just recently purchased my first BMW X5,a 2016 X-line in black sapphire with black interior. I am just beginning to start my modifications and would like to begin with adding 22" wheels. My X5 came with the 19x9" setup and no fender flares. I would like to install wheels in 22x10.5 (or possibly 22x10 if easier) non-staggered with 285/35/22 tires. My problem is I do not know the correct offsets to keep the new tires flush with the non-flared fenders. I prefer the look of non-staggered without flares as it just appeals to me more for some reason. Can someone please provide suggestions or information for this setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by Kenny1man; 01-18-2018 at 10:30 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

Spend some time to input proper values. On left side you can input any stock setup for BMW - closest will be 285/35/21 with 10Jx21 ET40 - then you can input on right side any rim of your choice and see how much difference there is between them The stock 285/35/21 wheel fitment can be seen for example in this picture: as you can see it's not sticking out (look at front wheel only, as rear is wider rim - staggered setup that you said you don't want) However, if you don't want to install fender flares - then you can use just your current stock tires 19x9 and input that as a default on left side (you can also look up stock offsets for all oem BMW sizes for x5 here: https://www.wheel-size.com/) Last edited by DuSh; 01-17-2018 at 09:44 PM.. |

Thanks for the information and the link to the table. I was looking at other pictures and have not found many other than a few random 20" setups. Are the 21" wheel offsets different than others? |

Great information. Thanks so much. Is there a sticky or something for forum members that show wheel and tire combinations? Last edited by Kenny1man; 01-18-2018 at 09:47 PM.. |

Maybe someone can chime in also P.S. The only advise I can give to you is this: 1. Remember that sometimes in person things look different than on photos and I found that usually (not always, but 90% of time) opinion of majority is more correct than mine or your initial impression. What i mean by that is that: fender flares do look better in person and imho x5 looks better with them (there are black unpainted ones and painted to match color) 2. Going with 22 rims is not a bad choice, but think about all options. Staggered does look better. However, non staggered is good for tire rotation. All I'm saying is don't rush - do a search, weigh your opinion many times before you buy (it will be very hard to sell unwanted wheels later). What seems good for you today, may look not as best choice in a week Last edited by DuSh; 01-17-2018 at 10:31 PM.. |
