Is it me, or the factory P-zeros are awful?

Just switched back earlier today from my winter tires, and put on the factory P-Zeros. The car just feels weird with them, it feels like its pulling in every direction and the steering feels loose. It didn't happen with the winter tire setup.

P Zeros? They're not awful. My only issue is that they wear out way too quickly. Were just fine on my 469 wheels when I first bought my X5.

Did you have any issues with the steering feeling like its pulling all over the place with every small imperfection in the road?

I think that’s a runflat tire characteristic, I’ve experienced it with Pirelli, Dunlop and now the PSS (not a RFT, but behaves like one).
If you want to have a ride like the winter tires or better, swap to the Conti DWS 06, it’s a huge improvement.

Does Michelin have comparable tires for our cars? I've been very happy with Michelin PSS on my m235i.

If you have 20s then the p zero is the only option. If you have the 21s then you can choose p zero, mpss, dunlops

I've got 20s - the roads in NYC are so horrendous I was afraid to go with 21s when I got the car.

It's more likely the width of your tires and the shorter sidewalls on your summer tires that is causing this, they refer to it as "tramlining"

I thought that too, until I went to the DWS 06, then to the PSS. The Contis are the same size, yet they don’t behave anywhere close to the RFT.

I think you can size down on the 20s for PSS to get them to work.

I had 20" P-Zero and they lasted exactly 9k miles. They were noisy and were a little harsh on the ride.

In the last month, I moved to 21" OEM-sized PSS and they are wayyyyyy less noisy, ride smoother, and provide as good if not better grip. I will never buy Pirelli ever again.

I had run flats on the 2015 50i and they wandered terribly. Took them off after 1000 miles and replaced them with nons. Problem fixed. My 20” Pirelli’s lasted 16,000 miles. Zero issues. 8,000 miles on my winters. Zero issues. Just put on my new 21” M PSS on Vossen’s. They are killer. Best tire all around for me.

I hate P-zeros. They are loud and wear quickly.

I just put on new Pirellis. My first set lasted for 32k miles, until they started to crack and metal wires were showing.

As soon as I put on the new pirellis I felt the car was driving all over the road and swaying side to side. They are slowly getting better with some driving, but I agree that handling is not amazing with them and I feel the tires roll. After some hard turns I always see road marks on the sidewalls which confirm that the tires are rolling too much.

They are very comfortable though!

Michelin is the best! Now with 20 inch wheels you can get the Michelin pilot sport 4s. The rear tires are being released May 11 in my market. Michelin is expanding their size range. Already ordered a set. Just be prepared for the higher premiums

i have nothing but bad to say about p zeroes. they r not as grippy as the mpss, and wear so quickly.

yes, i have experienced small potholes causing steering correction as the car is disturbed. i dunno if they r the tires or the fact that this car has such beefy widths to begin with.
