Update guys... Michelin is coming out with the pilot sport 4s at least for the 20inch wheels on my 50i. It is delayed till June though.

In size 325/35R20? What's your area? How did you find out about them? There is nothing in the Michelin site that I can find.

Trust me they're coming out in June. I'm in south Florida. Michelin is expanding the sizes that are available. I'm holding out for them.

Update guys... looks like there is some problem at Michelin and they're delaying the tires

I needed tires so I decided to pick up a set of Continental extreme contact sport. They've been pretty good so far.

i think the debate here was the fact that there is no other tire option for x5m/x6m 20" 285/40/20 and 325/35/20. Not 50i sizes 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 which there are a bunch of different brands to choose from.

I dont think michelin is planning on making the 325/35/20 as of now. maybe a 285/40/20 but they don't sell any model in 325/35/20. Pirelli P zero is the only tire made in this size.

I think the OEM P Zeros are quite decent. They tramline a lot compared to the winter setup but that is to be expected with the stiffer compound and steamroller widths! They're a bit noisy, but show me an equivalent tire that isn't.

I'd be curious to see how people feel about PS4's (those who have actually tried them for an extended period). My long love affair with PSS has been spoiled for the last couple of years. I put PSS on my wife's m240xi, expecting a marked improvement over the OEM tires (as had been my experience with every other car I had put PSS onto in the past).

Not so! I didn't believe that the total absence of steering feel and overly light steering effort in that car could get worse, but it did with the PSS. Also, the ride substantially worsened, and every road imperfection now gets transmitted into the cabin as an unpleasant resonance. The OEM tires rode and sounded better, and the car handled more enjoyably due to noticeably more 'give' in the tire, letting the car breathe more over imperfections in the road.

This is exactly why I was questioning it.

What did you originally have on the m235i? My m235i had PSS and my friends m240i also came with PSS, and so did my new M2.

I hate my P-Zeroes almost as much as the fact that I don't have any other choice of tires in the OEM size. At the end of last summer I needed a new set of tires, and went with the P-Zero. Within a month I had picked up a nail too close to the sidewall to safely patch it. My excellent tire dealer said "no problem, Pirelli has a one year guarantee on their run flats." We both soon leaned that 325/30r20s are one of the only sizes that doesn't carry the guarantee...Fortunately the dealer was willing to sell me a road hazard warrantee that covered most of the cost of the tire and has me covered for the remaining life of the tires.

Has anyone tried 315/35r20 tires on their F85? I had a set of Conti DWS on another vehicle and loved them.

Presumably you hate your PZeros for a reason other than picking up a nail too close to the sidewall, or is that something that doesn't happen to other brands?

I hate them because I only get ~10k miles on them. I hate them because I hate the ride and handling of run flats. And, as I originally stated, I hate them because Pirelli has us over a barrel and doesn't warrant this size of P-Zeros like they do their other run flats. Is that enough reasons for you?

You can run the 315/275 combo on the F85/6. It's still to spec.

Imran 315/275 DWS06 on my F85 for two years and they were flawless. Huge improvement from the Pirellis. I think the DWS06 run wider than the Pirellis (there's considerable variability between manufacturers on 'width'), so there wasn't really much difference in sidewall. Here are some pics from my install.

Is it me, or the factory P-zeros are awful?

That's a fair list of reasons. I am not a run flat fan, either.

My OEM 20" PZeros do not appear to be run flats - no markings to that effect on the sidewall. Now I'm curious - has BMW shipped from the factory with both types in the past?

F85 comes with non-rft. F15 does.

To confirm an OEM BMW tire is a run flat, your looking for a star on the sidewall.
