35i vs 30d-question
Hi,
Im asking this because friend who is thinking about buying X5 asked me to ask you guys witch one too buy 35i or 30d he does not drive enough so 35i is logicaly better for him, but 30d is 3400€ cheaper than equally equiped 35i and diesel fuel is 0.13€/l cheaper than gas, but hes worried that DPF filter will not like shorter distances(avrage distance is ~6 km in one direction) and he doesnt drive every day, but hes primarly intrested in diesel because of range on one tank so witch model would be better for him and why? |

it really depends if money is the most important criteria or not. 30d is cheaper than 35i, and will be easier to sell (with a higher price) than 35i.
Now, take into consideration that 35i is more powerful (I would rather compare 35i to 40d) and maybe nicer to drive. I actually ordered a 40d instead of 35i because here in France I would have to pay additionnal taxes on 35i and it has better performances also, besides the fact I'll do like 10000km per year max (this is not my daily). I don't know about DPF on short distances (and I don't really care : as soon as it still works, it's fine for me ^^). I also considered the fact that you can do way more km per refueling with a diesel (important when you go on vacation for instance). |

I just rechecked figures :
30d > 0-100kmh in 6.9s 35i > 0-100kmh in 6.5s 40d > 0-100kmh in 5.9s So yeah, that's correct, 30d and 35i are comparable. I thought 35i was a bit closer to 40d than 30d. |
