Called Peter Pan BMW, still nothing. It does read though "remedy available" now, but my SA told me they they will do these in batches and I need to wait for the letter in my mail, she doesn't have ETA.

My vehicle was in the dealership for the Start-Stop button error as I mentioned in my other post, while there they inspected for the recall even though parts were not available. They ended up telling me that the condition of my EGR Cooler and Intake Manifold they could not release the car back to me and I had to wait for parts to arrive (which they had no estimate). They gave me a Hertz rental vehicle which I ended up having for 3 weeks while I waited for the parts. They ended up replacing the EGR Cooler, Intake Manifold, and MAP sensor. For inconvenience they also agreed to cover and fix my start-stop button error that they determined needed a software update (from a SIB) and not covered under CPO warranty.

No CEL. Coolant was a little low before going in, but I acquired the vehicle back in January and never checked the coolant level as the light never came on for low coolant. It was just inspected while I had the car in. I however was getting intermittent code for air mass that I kept clearing and would randomly come back. I originally thought it had to do with the EGR. It was fault code 290900 “Air mass system:

So if there is no problems observed they don't do anything? What if the problem arises in a couple of year from then.
I got a call saying parts are available at my dealership a few weeks ago, but I didn't call them back yet. I am thinking now if I need to wait for some more mileage (I am at 37k now) or call them now. |

During my last visit I was told that they can check it but if my car needs new parts it can take up to 6 weeks and I will have to drive a loaner. So I decided to wait, I am not loosing any coolant and don't think I'm affected.

Finally brought it in for inspection last week and it turns out my car is affected, even I did not have any issues. Just got a text from my SA saying that they are replacing EGR cooler and intake manifold for me.

Well 4 months later got check engine light on and my SA informed me that my EGR cooler is leaking, cant believe this. My factory one was fine and the replacement one is faulty. Waiting for new parts again. Oh boy...
