2014 X5 f15 climate control button replacement?

Anyone know where I can get a set of replacement climate control buttons for an f15 X5? I see replacement sets for previous X5 models on EBay but haven't found anything for the f15.

As you can see in the pic, the fan speed button is worn and I'd like to replace just the button without having to replace the entire unit.

Thanks.

It's possible, have to get your hands on the button array somehow, used control panel perhaps.

Thanks. Looks like those are all whole units. I was looking for just a set of the buttons themselves...

There is no part number for "just the button" So unless you luck up and find one on ebay or go to a boneyard that has an F15 has one (difficult), and pry it off, you are going to have to buy the whole unit.

These are sold as one piece, and you can find a cheap used panel on Ebay, not worth replacing just one button. It is also a good opportunity to switch to ceramic controls.

Got my eye out for cheap listings, so far nothing under $200

Did you inquire at your local BMW dealership’s parts department? The part database shows that there is a repair kit for climate control buttons (see 1st diagram below)...and there’s also a kit for the radio & AC (see 2nd pic below).

If you use one of the online database sites...enter the last 7 digits of your VIN, then go to he climate control diagrams...you’ll see the repair kit diagram and part Nbr’s for the set that you need (there’s 3 different sets):

https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...73/61316848887

ECS Tuning (found doing a google search using the 11 digit BMW part number for the “no climate control front seats” kit:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...o/61316848886/

ECS Tuning (found doing a google search using the 11 digit BMW part number for the “with climate control front seats” kit:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...to/61316848887

For the climate & radio kit...there are multiple selections based on how the vehicle is optioned (ceramic dials/heated seats yes or no or combination of either): https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...iX/USA/64_2021

Thank you very much. I just called the parts department and they do have a replacement button set for the F15 - It is $120.

Not sure it's worth it to replace one button but at least I know where I can get them.

Go back to post #8...I wasn’t done with my reply. It appears there are sets sold by online vendors for less...ECS Tuning sells the climate control set for approx $60 depending on which set you need (that still may be costly for just one button). The button sizes are different depending on if you have climatized front seats or not...so if you buy....make sure you order the correct kit based on how your X is optioned.

And I've seen couple of ceramic conversion kits for $500-650 for panel, shifter and iDrive controller.

Hey Machetero , do you still need the button replacement?

If anyone needs any of these parts, I guess OP would have dibs on the AC button array if still in need. The reason I'm not listing the entire module in classified section is that I took the ceramic controls from this unit for myself, and I'm keeping my non ceramic knobs as backup. So I figured I can part out everything here except knobs for anyone interested. Both button arrays are in great shape, the front face is in good shape too, came off a totaled donor, 06/2014 board.

Sorry to revive an old thread but my audio controls such as volume and all associated buttons on that part of the panel stopped working. Can I replace the entire climate control and audio control panel with a used panel from ebay and not have to code it? I am concerned that i'll buy the panel and be stuck with a panel that needs to be coded to work even if I buy this direct replacement.

The video linked above the person swapped the boards which wouldn't be an option for me since it isn't working correctly.

I would go to the TIS website (https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/) and type in the last 7 digits of your VIN...then use the search box to type something like "Removing and installing/replacing radio and A/C control panel". If you scroll down to the bottom of the instructions...it will usually mention programming or encoding if it may be required by the work you performed.

Thanks for the information!

It does have a link for "Carry out vehicle programming/encoding" so I'm pretty sure it will have to be programmed unless this is just to change options?
