Bmw Buy Back

Why am I not Eligible? Since october my 2017 x5m with 17k miles has needed repair 4 times . The first two visits the front axels had to be replaced the third time the front wheel hubs had to be replaced and now I am back again waiting for a report since Tuesday. This time there was a different noise coming from the front but sounds worse than previous issues. I was offered a credit towards a new car from BMW NA last visit but with me trading my car in, The new one was over $400.00 more per month for the exact same build. All I want to do is get out of this car. Besides the annoyance I do not feel very safe driving this car anymore. Who can i talk to? I keep getting the same case manager at BMW NA and she thinks paying the extra $400.00 for the same cars is a very generous offer. Any Suggestions are appreciated!

Looks like you are one of the few unlucky ones.
The "ultimate driving machine" has been the "ultimate nightmare" for you.
They should buy back immediately.
I would ask for an escalation.

See if your series of issues falls within NJ lemon law. Hire an attorney if needed.

I've lemoned 3 BMWs in my early 20s here in CA. I'm not familiar with the laws in NJ but sounds like you need an attorney so get your search game on.

I'm not a lawyer, but based on the attached brochure it looks like you should be covered under the NJ Lemon Law. It covers vehicles during the first two years or 24,000 miles if two or more repair attempts were made for the same defect. Your best bet would be to contact a lawyer.

Contact a lawyer. I lemon law a 650 about 7 years ago. Lawyers charged me a small fee once we settle with BMW. I believe I received about 15k in that settlement also due to the amount of time my car was at the shop.

I am not suggesting by any means you should get from BMW more than it is fair but an attorney will help you determine what that is.

I had an issue many years ago with the first X5, a stick-shift. After many complaints the dealer involved a regional manager. After numerous back and forth BMW finally agreed to replace the car with a 5 series (equal value) for the remainder of the lease. Unfortunately I do not recall if there was a payment difference, I don't thinks so but this was many years ago.

Not sure on NJ Law but in VA when I had to get a lawyer involved on a Land Rover Lemon the lawyer fees were also paid by the manufacturer.

BMW goes by the amount of days in DAVIS to create a case for trade-assist or buy-back. If it did not spend enough days in service for the same issue or a group of issues then it is not eligible by their metrics. Your only other option is to speak with a regional manager and ask them to advocate on your behalf for a trade-assist. Considering the type of discounts being had on 2017 you should not have any issue getting the same monthly or maybe even a higher msrp for the same monthly rate.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. Here is what I was offered. Bmw will take back my car as long as I buy a new model of equal or more value. Should i expect anything more?

So whatever money you had put till that point will count against new one?
If so, I'd take it if you still like the car, so you can avoid involving attorneys.

Oh, they should at least spare you a couple of payments for "pain and suffering"!

no addtl fees and the credit for similar vehicle? If so, that seems reasonable.

That's a terrible deal then. Sounds like you need to hire an attorney.

The money you put down and the payments made should go to the new vehicle. If not this is not a deal at all. They are telling you to buy a new car from them, and stealing your prior payments and down payment. Get a lawyer.

You need to research NJ lemon law and involve an attorney if you want to fight it. No one here is going to be able to confirm for you whether your situation falls within lemon law criteria.

That is a terrible deal. They should give you a new X5M of equal value and at the same lease rate for the remaining months of your current lease.

Or ask them for an X5M loaner in the meantime, and just keep taking your X5M in for repairs until they realize it's a money pit.
