Hi Can you take some pics of the setup when you get a chance? Just ordered the vibrant muffler, want to try this route. Did you keep the exhaust flap intact?

Just want to make sure I tell the muffler shop exactly what to do.
did you swap your muffler? how do you like it?
So I swapped the muffler... definitely has more sporty sound but not as aggressive as I expected. No drone, don't need the resonator. Def louder on low rpms as well. Not sure if matches the MPE muffler, but pretty good alternative for total cost of 370$ with install.

Wonder if with a chip it would be louder? Thinking of getting JB4 or racechip next.

Also the obd adapter and bimmer link doesn't keep the valve open permanently. Tried a few times and when I restart the car it's closed. Will try to take a video clip next time.
What does your set up look like now? Mind taking a few pictures?

Not sure if I can take a pic of underneath the car without the lift. I took the before pic but he took the car down before I could take a pic after install. The vibrant muffler looks pretty much the same, 2.5 inch from down pipe and 3 inch to the tips from both sides.

I want to buy dual tips and will probably take off the exhaust flap all together when installing it.

The muffler you bought had a center pipe leading in and dual out like our stock ones do?

I also permanently unplugged the exhaust valve and sounds much better now
with bimmer link it only works after you connect wifi to obd and keep it on, so i open it up using the app and then unplugged the cable underneath. def sounds better this way

I'd like to unplug the exhaust valve as well. Any drawbacks to this?

I don't think so, it's made to muffle the sound, I didn't get any notification /check engine when I unplugged.

Worried about warranty, from what I understand with bm3, the flash leaves an automatic trace even if you flash it back stock.

I'll be using 2 Vibrant resoinators in the back to replace the OEM muffler on the 50i. I am hoping that the sound will be good. I just could not decide yet if I should go with quad 3.5 inch staggered tips or quad 4inch staggered tips. Any sugestions?

Do you get any errors when disconnecting the valve?

Question, has anyone done this but not install a "y-pipe" to the exhaust outlet pipes after opening it?
In other words has anyone taken the fiberglass sound deadening out, left internal muffler piping the way it is and resealed the muffler. I currently have the muffler cut open and removed the fiberglass deadening, I wanted to know what would happen if I just reweld the muffler shut after sound deadening removal.
Also, what is the skinny little pipe for?
Thanks in advance

Dropped my car off last night for get the Vibrant (10632) muffler installed this morn and he called and gave me some bs story that I would have to take it somewhere else. Says the vibrant muffler is smaller than OEM so the pipes that exit the muffler will have to be fabricated (said the OEM pipes were to short) and that would require MIG welding in which he doesn't do. Personally, I don't think he wanted to mess with it. I asked him if Maxi Muffler could do it and he acted like they couldn't do that type of welding either. He commented on the electric valve on the passenger side that opens and closes. He said I'm not sure what we can do with that since new piping will be installed there. Anyhow, what a nightmare. Some many guys here on the forum run this muffler without any install issues. Maybe I took it to the wrong place. Those that have had it installed who did your install? Were any issues that I mentioned above brought up?
