Damn! Call some other shops. I was quoted between $150 - $250. Ended up paying $180 for the labor because I just got a good feeling from this dude and I'm super happy with it.

This reminds me of shopping around to get my brakes powder coated. i was getting prices in the $400 range and then I called this one shop and they quoted me a grand! WTF
Did you ever get your brakes powder coated?? If so where??

I ended up painting them. Check out the 'Make X5 Great Again Brembo DIY' thread for pics.

Got it sorted... Turned out both cats were bad and throwing up the CEL.

Both were replaced and the CEL went away

Has anyone with the muffler delete feel less torque on the high end flooring it from 60mph? It seems like I'm missing some power but not sure..

I kinda felt like that in the beginning, but don't notice it any more.

Either the loss is still there and I don't notice it anymore or it corrected itself.

Turbo engine still need some back pressure for torque.
Going muffler less or straight pipe will cause you to lose low end torque.
You'll fly going high RPM at high speed, but not stop and go.

Makes sense but luckily it wasn't that much of a loss to not reverse it 😁

I was thinking more about the torque loss and figured there's one way to tell.

There's quite a few of us that have done the muffler delete/swap here in the Houston area. It might be worthwhile to put a mini meet together here in Houston and we can put them side by side to see if there is a difference in Low End Torque.

Feelin Nauti / mikew2069 Wanna race, LOL? I've been wanting to see your vehicles for quite some time now and really want to see how much of a difference the MPBK has made on yours. I have DHP so you can also see how that feels. (Sorry its the only thing I can offer that's different)

Lol, sure I'll race!... And the brakes are awesome - looking at least. I honestly don't know if I can tell a difference in stopping power. I feel like the stock brakes were pretty damn good to start with.

Cool. I'll make a thread in the next couple of days to see if anyone else would want to join and to come up with a plan.

I am about to pull the trigger on the muffler delete with an X-pipe. Can anyone confirm if 4 inch dual tips can fit into msport bumper on 50i? And if so, do they need to be staggered or can we put straight ones at an angle to look flush with the bumper? Thanks guys.

People have done it so yes its possible but I think its a very tight fit and could require some trimming of your bumper. I recommend getting staggered tips for the best look

Thanks, mate. Do you know any good ones? it looks like there is only a limited amount of options online.

Not really. I went with dual 3.5" to keep it simple.

I am thinking of going with these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...A11Y10VJPO28KS

It'll be a pretty tight fit.

Those look identical to the ones that I have that are 3.5". I would say if you're going 4", try and find a set that minimizes the space between the dual outlets.

You are right, however, I could not find any that have a smaller gap or no gap which are also staggered, angled and also 4". There are several ones that are 3.5" with very little or no gap.

Finally finished the muffler delete project.

Used 2.5" in and out steel x-pipe, dual Vibrant bottle style resonators, and 4' inch double layer steel quad tips.

It took some time to finalize this project as I was trying to figure how to fit the quad 4" tips and what tips to use. I also changed my mind the last minute and instead of spray painting them with VHT high temp paint, I had them powder coated with "gloss wet black".

Please be advised:

If you are going to do the same mod, you'll need exhaust tips that are less than 10 inches in overall length; that have a gap no more than 4 mm in between tips; and that are staggered. Still it'll be a very tight fit. But I am very glad that my wife insisted on 4" inch quad tips instead of 3.5 inch ones, because I was planning to have 3.5" tips because I knew that they'd fit.

I used dual bottle resonators because I wanted to decrease the dB level of the muffler delete around 4-5 dB and prevent any drone (after watching almost all available muffler delete videos).

I love the way the car sounds now. The x-pipe and the resonators are brand new so the sound characteristics will change slightly but it is perfect for my needs.

You do not hear much when cruising with the windows up unless of course you step on it. Windows down, you hear it when you start accelerating at 1.5-2k rpm and when you are decelerating to a stop at the same rpm. When you drive leisurely, sounds almost stock.

The pops and burbles are more pronounced than the stock exhaust and the decibel level is higher at idle when in gear.

And the videos:

Looks and sounds great! Do you get a drone inside around 1500-2500 RPM? Also, could you do provide some close up shots of the tips installed? I've got 3.5" tips installed -may upgrade to 4"

No drone. Could have even made it further quieter by using the Vibrant 2.5" Ultra Quiet Resonator but I like it like this.
Here are some pics:
