Title is wrong, couldnt change it sorry.

Just got my Powerstop brake kit. $450 for all 4 corners. Surprised the kit comes with all the hardware and new brake wear sensors!

I'll review them once I have time to install them and run them for a while

if they are zinc coated they should deter rust unless hit with wheel cleaner or cheap degreaser at the automated carwash.

From the website

Plated
Silver Zinc Dichromate plating is applied to all drilled & slotted rotors (except for hub assemblies) to not only look great behind your wheels, but to help prevent rust & corrosion.

What's the point of a coating... rotors are suppose to wear down with use.

Agreed, how does plating help prevent corrosion once the pads break through the layer of plating (which won't take long)? Perhaps inside the slots or holes, but certainly not on the rotor surfaces.

I think the plating is for the areas that don't get touched by the pads to keep things looking pretty.

So the outer perimeter and the hub don't get rusty

The entire rotor is coated/plated and then the surface area in contact with the pad wears away as designed and intended however the remainder of the rotor remains relatively rust free for a cleaner look but the coating is only as good the conditions it is experiences. If you hit with wheel acid or industrial degreaser then after a few washes the rotors will start to look like any other rotor and rust over.

How are the brakes? Do you have any pictures of the rotors on your car? Trying to decide if I want to get this kit this week.

I had power stop rotors and pads on my Grand Cherokee SRT and they were completely fine and hardly any dust which was a bonus. Lost a tad bit of bite from the stock Brembos but the low cost and low dust made it completely worth it.

Why'd you leave the SRT?

Long story short, that thing was trash. That’s probably being a bit harsh but the fit and finish was just cheap. The known issues of trim warping, pealing etc etc etc just got old. It was a beast of an suv and very raw but I didn't get a smile on my face like I do with bimmers.
