New X5 owner

Hey,

Got myself a 2015 X5 30d, I’ve had an F30 330e and F31 340i and thought time for something a big bigger next. So far love the car and really comfortable!

It’s mineral white and love the colour!

Found a good spec car I think. Just reading the forum now for hints and tips!

Here is my spec:

Black Dakota Leather
20” Black Alloys 491M
Reversing camera
Comfort Access
Surround View
High Beam Assist
Adaptive LED Headlights
Headlight Cleaning System
Rear Professional Entertainment
TV Function
Harmon Kardon
Head Up Display
3rd Row Seating
Ceramic Controls
Pan Roof
Sun Protection Glass
Lumber Support

Thanks Alex

I second the coding, I did it myself. Easy process, did the mirrors to fold with comfort access too.

Enjoy

Yeah 330e was ok.... just didn’t get the range from the battery and once changed jobs the fuel tank was also a bit small filling up every other day....

The boot already closes off remote?? I just hold the open button till it closes? Or is there something different?

That’s why I have a key fob cover so that I don’t accidentally trigger it in my pocket.

Congrats!
Have a 328d, myself and the torque is addictive, can't imagine how it feels in the X5.

Congrats- I got a high mileage 2014 3.5i w/ msport- kind of a lark- i figured what the heck. I was really impressed by the dealer (Patrick in IL), and the car seemed so loaded. I traded off high mileage for lower price- my had was kind of forced coming off an emissions non-compliant (tuned) forester turbo (2010). The 3.5 is slower, but getting back into the FXT to sell it- it was stiff and not as fluid as the x5. Dang I got spoiled fast.

Of course I put a Race Chip in it right away, will probably MPPK it too, but I love the mass/inertia (the FXT was LIGHT), and the F15 engine is very well tuned. I commute suburban 25 miles a day, and do occasional long trips with 2 big dogs- my wife has a new qx50 which is a riot- super competent in winter- but the x5 is a bit bigger for the trips.

Had it up to 120 twice- feels more stable than the FXT. Nowhere near as fast off the line, but 380 torque at low rpm moves out smartly.

I liked the bohemian aspect of the Subaru- but the X5- even if Subaru had not failed to support me- they just do not compare. Might be more reliable overall, but the 3rd gen X5s are really, really good.

Nothing like a digitally controlled turbo engine to keep you happy. You will love it- and that torque... :-)
