In that case maybe just change the shift points.

On "E", the max I've been able to put into the tank is 17 gallons +/- 0.5 gallons....and my max range is around 200 miles....haven't cared too much, but something isn't right....since literature says I should expect 22.4 gals...

5 gallons of gas isn't going to double my mileage range, so not too concerned (since it's the wife's vehicle, and the only time I drive it is when I have to fill the tank up every 3 to 4 weeks, sometime 5 weeks. It doesn't bother me that max range isn't achieved, but will address when it bothers her)

The tank on my E53 4.8is is about 24 gallons, and I was curious about the F85's so I Googled it. This says the capacity is only 18.7 gallons:

https://www.google.com/search?q=bmw+...client=gws-wiz

I'm not surprised the tank is smaller, but I'm surprised it's 5 gallons smaller.

EDIT - 22.4 US gallons! Makes me feel better!

Pretty sure youve got 100 litre tanks which ia approx 22 Imperial gallons.

Wish we had 100l tanks in Europe, would give me lots more range when towing

Isn't everyone getting close to 500 miles

This was after a road trip…definitely not the norm.

I'm only two weeks into having the X5M and is seems for average mixed driving I'm getting between 550-600kms per fill. This was the same distance I was getting with my M4... now a 25lt bigger tank to do it!
