During my initial 1200 mile break-in while I didn't "red-line" or go past the recommended RPM limit, I did try to drive as "normal" as I would want to drive such a beast - aggressively. In speaking with my SA when I was in for my last oil service I mentioned what I've been reading and all the reports of "burning oil" and he said that one big cause was that drivers were "babying" the engine too much during break-in. |

my m3 has yet to ask for one drop of oil and i am at 32k miles. my x5m has now asked for 3 quarts of oil at 15k miles. all started around 8k miles in the car has been asking for a quart every 3k or so miles. I drive both cars HARD. My x5m tranny has over heated a couple of times with me driving on public roads. My m3 has been amazing. |

Mine was an executive demo with 5,000 miles on it when I got it. I am sure someone had run the piss out of it so I bet it was not broke in properly. Maybe thats why it uses oil, maybe not? My service advisor left me with the feeling that most of the TTV8's burn oil. Now that they are giving me a couple quarts I am not going to worry about it. Not planning to purchase it at the end of the lease. Will most likely lease a 2020 X5M or M5 at that point.

Hello,
My F86 has 110.000 km (almost 70k miles) and burns about 1l or 1 qt every 1800 km or a little over 1k miles. I have the car from new and it all started after 90.000 km. Up until then it burnt about 1 liter every 5.000 km and until I reached 50.000km 1 liter every 15.000km right before my oil change at about 18.000km. My dealer said it is normal to burn this much oil but I don't know, it seems a little bit much. Does anybody has this much mileage and how much does it burn? P.S I drive it very hard, max it on the Freeway almost daily |

- my X5 M now at 30,000 miles,
- changed oil at 1,200 - 15,000 and 30,000 as per service indications - never added additional oil, at last service the oil level was 3/4 down. |

Oil level warning
F86 X6M owner here. Just joined. Long story, but just checking if anyone has had the "oil level at minimum, top up 1 litre" warning right after pushing hard and slowing down? It disappears on restart, and when I took it to the dealer, they did a measurement and confirmed that the oil level is okay. Mileage is about 31,000 kilos, did the last service at 30,000.
I use Ceratec and our fuel here is not premium, if that helps. |

E70 winter set up to F15
Please don't crucify me not castrate me with this question.
This topic might have been asked and discussed numerous times in this forum but I can't seem to find the definitive answer/s I need. I found this on the local craigslist and would like to buy it for my winter set-up. It's 255/55/18 tires. Style 209 8.5 X 18 ET 46 Will this fit my 2018 XDrive X35d? It currently has a staggered 20" set up. Thank you so much. |
