Thank you
My rig is in the shop and I'm having my calipers painted. I debated cobalt blue, purple, and lime green, among other colors. And I kept coming back to keeping things tasteful and stealth. So I'm going with LBB on my calipers. Just wanted to do a sanity check if anyone had it going on.

Yellow and Green

The cobalt blue and purple are more subtle transition colors between LBB and black wheels. But it's tough to decide and I'd rather keep it tasteful than regret doing something goofy. I kept coming back to matching the body color because I'm going for a "stealthier" look rather than trying to make things pop more. Then I saw a friend's car with body matching calipers and that made my decision. I'm omitting the M decals on the calipers too, because there is already an M on every panel. I feel like having more Ms all over the vehicle is cheesy and trying too hard. Just thought it would be cool to see pictures if anyone had them. |

He read my mind has to be damn close... I would either go big or go home on this one if attempting a change per say... there was a X6M that had yellowish or lime I thought it looked badass with LBB. Not sure if I can find the pics he had 22 inch Vossens if anyone maybe remembers... I also think if your running stock rims it also hides more of that flashy your worried about vs the Vossens pictured.

Blue calipers

The yellow calipers posted here look better than the ones I've seen on the one I saw that was listed for sale. You're right about the wheels too, the stock 612s definitely hide more. And the rear caliper is almost non-existent because it's one of those crappy ones. The thing is, a lot of people want to hype up their cars, and as much as I love the wild colors, I'm looking to downplay mine with classy/tasteful quieter upgrades that don't scream "hey look at how fast I am!" I'd rather my rig be appreciated by enthusiasts who have to look twice to really appreciate what I've done to it. My body shop loved my lime green idea too, and I think it would look sick. But unless I change my mind for some reason, body color is how I'm gonna roll this time around... Last edited by Blue By You; 04-24-2021 at 10:17 AM.. |

You don’t always need a contrasting caliper color. LBB on a LBB x5 will look awesome.

Yep. Like you, I bought the rear Panamera calipers. I bought M logos done in black, but I think the logos are too small for a caliper and will try to get the motorsport brembo version done. If not, the standard brembo logo in black.

What are those rear calipers, and where did you purchase them from. And did you have them color matched to the fronts? I've contemplated getting a set for my X5M. Any information that you could provide would be helpful.

Same guy as already pointed out. I asked for unfinished calipers and he knocked off some from the price. Kind of weird that the website price is more than the eBay price. One thing that was weird was he sent the brackets unfinished as well. Had to work out a partial refund and I had them hard anodized locally. |

Aluminum corrodes, especially I would imagine with road salt. Also, look up “duralumin” which is a 2000 series alloy that is more susceptible to corrosion. His reason was, “i wanted to get the kit to you as soon as possible.” Um...i prefer getting what was advertised in the kit.
