Experience switching from Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT to MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT
Are MICHELIN PILOT SUPER SPORT have lesser handling ability compared to Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT? Any regrets switching from one or the other? I put brand new 21" staggered setup Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT only 10000 miles ago but whooping noise started to come from the fronts, when driving at 30-39 miles an hour speed. I like the square look of my Dunlops better then donuts look of Michelin.
Thanks! |

Have you had a look at the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric ?
I have them on my X5, 20" and they have a square look to them, as oppose to the Michelins. Grip wise, very good, comfort is great (non run flats) and not much noise at all.

I purchased the Dunlops original stock tires at 20K miles on my odometer for that wide steam roller look and the phenomenal grip/performance. But.. at 37K miles, I decided to go with Continental DWS because I wanted a longer lasting thread and significantly lower road noise and I'm thoroughly happy with the contis. One of the reasons I stuck with the Dunlops at the 20K mile mark was that wide tire look in the rear, but the newer DWS doesn't seem to take away that look.

I have a bmw X5 21 inch with Dunlop SP maxx GT. 2 years now and runflats are just excellent in terms of comfort and road anomalies and extremely good in water and high speeds!! Zero noise! 2 years driving 20.000miles and I still have I believe another 2 years life. What I didn’t like: the first 1 months wheels drive like a stone but after they became extremely comfortable!!! I am shocked. I tried in the past Pirelli: not good in wet, 3 months comfort and then transfer all turbulence inside car, can not keep pressure stable for more than 2 weeks!! Dunlops 3 months and no change in psi!!! So for me Pirelli are scam!! I believe the best are material is Dunlop and Michelin. The rest are lower category
