A few years ago on a roadtrip to Duluth, MN. I was amazed at how well the F15 performed in the deeper snow on stock all season Pirreli's.

Also cannot believe they got rid of these beautiful round gauges for the trapezoidal rubbish in the new X5s.

Missing my 35d....

As others have noted, there's noticeable improvement in handling and ride quality over bumps and uneven road surfaces. I couldn't believe how sloppy & bouncy this thing was w/ the standard suspension after coming from an E70 M Sport with the standard suspension - that thing felt so planted and dialed in compared to the F15. And of course the ride height is improved by trimming away some unnecessary wheel gap w/o it looking too low (for my tastes).
Hi, what tires are you running? Thanks!

Recognize your name from the E70 forums. I miss my E70 which had 2VF adaptive drive. F15 does not have DHP, and it just does not handle the same.

Which shop did you get your springs & install done from? Glad to see another local!

I recognize your screen name too I had my E70 50i for 5 years and loved that thing to death despite it's many issues, but I've been in the F15 for a year now and overall like it much better. I had the standard suspension in both my X5s. Couldn't find the right F15 w/ DHP - it was always the wrong color, wrong year, too many miles, missing other key options, etc.

BMW Seattle. Been going there for nearly 20 years and have a really good relationship with my SA. Plus I needed a few other things done and I'm still under paid maintenance so I just had everything done at 1 place.

Otherwise, I'd have probably gone to Truline - they have locations in Seattle & Bellevue. I had my M3 lowered by those guys, would definitely recommend. They also do touchless tire mounting, so I try to use those guys especially if I'm dealing with a new set of wheels.

I dont make it up to Duluth and the North Shore nearly as much as I should in the winter. I really want to snowshoe the Gunflint Trail. We do some hiking and backpacking along the SHT in the warmer months.

While I don't fully give up in the winter, I do my best to relax in regards to keeping it clean. Even the 19" 467 wheels throw up a fair bit at the side of the car compared to the summer 20" 469 staggered. Id like to get a 20" squared winter setup as the 19's look a bit anemic to me.

I love Alpine White as a color and is very rewarding when clean. The OEM front pads throw alot of iron deposits along the car leaving some yellow rust marks along the side skirts. I did the rear with Brembo Rotors / Akebono pads and I'll probably do the same upfront after this winter. Gonna look into PPF and Ceramic Coat options soon.
