Anyone tried installing the KW suspension kit made for the F15 with self-leveling rear suspension and EDC? I am thinking about doing that on my 2018 X5 35d, as I find the OE setup to be terrible. I do some towing with the X5 though, and I believe that the KW kit lowers the ride height a bit, which is not ideal. I am not really looking to lower my X5, but if ground clearance and ride height are not changed dramatically I may be able to accept that in exchange for better ride quality and handling. Just looking for some opinions from folks who have tried this mod.

Can't speak to KW springs but I have Eibach Pro Kit springs on the front and lowering links on the rear air. Drop is a bit less than an inch, so fine for towing I would imagine, and nicely firms up the ride without making it harsh...

Thanks. I am looking at the full KW kit that comes with adjustable dampers, springs and EDC elimination modules.

As far as I am aware (and I stand to be corrected) there is no aftermarket suspension kit that improves handling without lowering the ride height unless you just get stiffer shocks.
From the specs the drop looks to be similar for both Eibach and KW so I still reckon it would be fine for towing. Does this kit stop the rear from auto-leveling? I would think if towing is important that you would want to keep this feature....

The KW kit retains self-leveling.

Perfect, sounds like you are good to go. Assuming the drop is indeed the same as I have then it really shouldn't affect your towing in any way, it's a relatively small drop and the ride is much improved

Compared to stock, the OP said he has OE suspension with rear air (which is also what I had) so not M Sport...

1) M sport can have rear air.

2) retaining self leveling suspension just means you only get sent 2 front springs. For The rear they send adjustable links to lower the rear to match the front drop.

So in total it should be 4 shocks, 2 springs, 2 links, 4 EDC dummy plugs.

Yes, I just said that

1) the OP had said that he had OE and not M Sport, I did not say that you could not have M Sport and rear air.

2) I actually have Eibach Pro Kit springs on the front and the adjustable rear links, as I mentioned in my initial reply....(and in my sig)

Ya sorry meant to quote OP. Clicked wrong reply. Although OE doesn't mean m sport or not. He just means original suspension components. Doesn't mention it he's got M sport or X line. Though since he does mention EDC kit for the adaptive oem shocks I assume he then has M sport.

Gotcha. Although I have 2VM Comfort Adaptive (which is active dampers as I understand it) but not M Sport....

Ok then you have DHP. Which is adaptive dampers and limited slip, and adaptive sway bars

We don't get DHP in Europe. I'm pretty sure I don't have lsd or adaptive sway bars....sure as hell doesn't drive that way! Maybe you are thinking of 2VF?

I do not have M Sport. Just standard DDC/self-leveling.

I'm not sure if I should ask this here or create my own thread. Would the KWs be an improvement over stock suspension w/o air/dhp etc for towing?

I recommend KW. My recommendation is that you have it professionally installed.. It's worth the cost.. The mom and pop shop cost me. I have a extra KW I will sell after the holidays as a result.. GMP in Charlotte did the work.

Can you elaborate on what the mom and pops shop did that cost you? Also, are you recommending that people don't DIY?

Looks great, what are your measurements in front and rear from ground to fender?

Hey Team, The front and rear ground to finder measurements are 30 1/4 inches. I was looking for balance. If you have additional questions? Please contact.
