BC Forged Wheel/Tire Fitment Help!
Hey guys in process of ordering BC Forged Wheels. But before I commit I’m having a difficult time explaining to companies or even getting help on the matter. Never really had this issue with any of my others cars lol. Anyway, I’m looking at 21x10 and 21x12 and the recommended size tires are 285/35/21 and 325/30/21. The issue I personally think the Michelin PSS don’t ride great and tire options are limited. Can anyone assist in figuring out custom offsets, wheel widths so I can accommodate some thicker profile tires? I’m not a width snob so I don’t need the widest tire in the world. I just need ride comfort lol. This is my wife’s car and I don’t want to fuck it up for her lol. I saw the post about the person running wider tires on stock wheels 21”, but I want to finalize everything before commuting as there aren’t many tire options or good daily tire options.

I think what you're asking is a bit confusing. You want to run a taller tire, or a wider tire? You're also going with a wider rim than stock with the BC's.
Are you stating that the 20's don't come with very many options, so you want to go to 21's for more tire selection....but you don't like the Michelin's in the 21" sizing? On a side note, I'm running BC's on my M3 and love them. |

Agree with Tapout! Much less options with 21's vs 20's... and the sizing you stated above would be the correct size width tires for those rim widths and look the best in my opinion. Get the 285/325 combo! They will look absolutely sick on that F85! |

I think OP has decided on diameter. I think his primary question is regarding offsets if he runs tires larger than stock, i.e. 285/45s and 325/40s (or perhaps 275/45s and 315/40s).
One comment to OP...you might consider 11.5" width wheels in the rear. BC prefers this I think based on comments from other forum members, such as classic_erik. |

Currently BC Forged and I got a little thicker profile worked out. But wondering if we can cram in a little more. 21x9.5" +20 front 275/40/21 21x11.0" +13 rear 315/35/21 TLR: What custom wheel spec would it take to fit 275/45/21 in front and 315/40/21 in rear? |

Honestly your best bet is to call BC Forged. They will tell you exactly what you need and take the time to explain why. Ask for Jonathan.

It’s kind of crazy to me that I’m ready to spend $4K on wheels. The wheel company only knows how to process orders. But anything that becomes “custom” all of a sudden becomes undoable. I honestly feel like I have a good idea of fitment, but I want to confirm and get some support. But BC Forged can’t provide that service for their “custom wheels.” They got back to me and they said they can guarantee standard fitment, but they can’t guarantee any of the upsized tires fitment. This is apparently coming from corporate in Taiwan.

Here's a thread on some BC Forged wheels. Maybe he can help you out with what you're looking for
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1708906 I'm also running BC Forged wheels. But I'm on the stretched tires. Eventually going to go with OEM spec tire sizes for 21's https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1706146

I'm not surprised BC doesn't want to guarantee fitment. Too many unknowns considering tires are out of spec.

Please share your knowledge with all of us here! I want to go the same route as you. I have 22s and think the aspect ratio is a bit too small. Thanks in advance! NM |

You could always play it safe and go +25/+18 for the offsets instead of the above, test fit and if OK, purchase a set of 5mm spacers? I know you said above you don't want spacers, but at least this would mean less chance of f'ing it up for your wifey. Seems like there are lots of Pirelli PZeros in those specs. I too find the Michelin PSS a bit harsh. Delta of zero between front/rear in those specs so no issues causing computer intervention, but both front & rear would be a larger circumference so would affect your speedo I guess?

Then I did some calculations, and I think I should be good. BC Forged will guarantee their fitment, but they will not guarantee MY tire fitment. So 21 x 9.5” et20 and 21 x 11” et13 will 100% work with 285/35/21 and 325/30/21 tires. But I decided to upsize to Pirelli PZero (Tire Rack close out haha) so I’m testing out 275/40/21 in front and 315/35/21 in the rear. This will increase tire size by 1” and I’ll be lowering the car with Dinan .6.” I’m hoping that I have the flush look I’ve wanted, without sacrificing ride comfort and suspension travel. Best part about this IF the upsized tire is success I can then expect Michelin to be releasing the PS4 SUV in my upsized size shortly. I called them and confirmed directly and it’s already showing up on Discount Tire’s website. As for speedo it will be off, but nothing I’m not used to and it never bothered me on any of my cars. And I want to clarify that BC Forged and WheelLab really helped me confirm my thoughts. JD |

Well guys looks like the tire fitment and my custom wheels will not be an issue. I kind of figured that with everything we looked at and calculated I would be ok. But someone decided to run my 275/40/21 and 315/35/21 upsized tires as his winter setup. Not a single issue, and it seems with a drop such as Dinan it will make it flush and perfect. The drop portion is an ASSumption, but I’m not too concerned with a light drop such as Dinan!
scats for the pics and contribution to the community! JD |
