By M cars you mean F85/F86, as far as its from F15/F16 it should work? Thank you for the information!

Hi all, I am trying to put a m sport steering with paddles in a non m sport with sports+ coded. I am uploading a picture of the connector. Can anyone confirm that the wire splitting is still needed before I install for the paddles to work before I install? There is no wire in connector hole 4 and a pinkishwhite wire in hole 5. I concur with Koer you have a donor steering wheel that is wired correctly for the F15 (no pink wire present) all you have to do is code it either manually by FDL coding and changing paddle shift from "not active" to "active" in the BDC module to activate the paddle shift only or VO coding by adding 2TB to the FA list and re coding the BDC, kombi and ICM modules to activate paddle shift, the sports+ gear change as a 4th option and Launch Control

Thanks. Will try that. This is a F15 steering indeed. When I read BitteEinBit had to change wires in a F85 steering, I had gotten all confused since they should have the same connector based on the pictures I saw.
Just waiting on the airbag and I will put it all together soon. Hopefully I am wired for the shifter. Update: all works. no wiring needed

Hello,
My car is a non-M sport with no paddle shifters with heating, vibro and ACC. I wanted to install the paddle shifters and saw below on ebay. Now, will this be plug and play or do i have to do any wiring as current SW do not have paddle shifters. Please let me know. Thanks!! |

Thank you for your response. the Ad said it fits F15. Below is the picture of the SW with air bag removed.
the wheel has all the wiring needed? Also, it comes with two stage air bag, is it standard? |

Do you need the SAT (sport automatic transmission) for the shift paddles to work? Or can they be activated by coding software?

I found a decent F16 wheel with paddle shifters and heat but no vibro. Does anyone know if I can just take the vibro motor from my current wheel and move it to the new one or there are no mounting holes for it?

Update just had a look at a few on sale and it appears there were no mounts I find it hard to believe that the steering wheel came from an X6 All X5 and X6 models here come standard with it does the seller supply a donor VIN I would be inclined to check it on the Mdecoder App. Remember to check the presence of the pink if it is a legit X5/6 steering wheel there will only be 5 wires going into the plug no pink one

This one here
https://www.pacificmotors.com/auto-p...6-x6m-2015-19/ Doesn't look like it has the motor mounts, little cut is there but I don't see nut molded into the wheel. |

Not sure if this is US spec but the price is reasonable may need to use your existing trim so you can use your current airbag

Fit it and trial it out before going to the expense of rewrapping. You might want to use your existing buttons while you change out the trim as the wiring loom between them is interwoven on grommets on the underside of the trim. The grommets differ in location pending on what trim is fitted. Good luck

I've been scouring like crazy for information. My no-line X5 is coming next week and I'm trying to get a few things ready for it. I have a 2016 BMW M3 Steering Wheel with Paddle Shifters, buttons, airbag.
I bought a 2016 X5 35iX no-line with HUD (610), Surround View (5DL), Lane Change Warning (5AG) and a Sports Leather Steering Wheel (255)... ... so what are the chances that its pre-wired for paddle shifters? Should I just install it and code it with Bimmercode and see what happens? The worst that can happen is it simply doesn't work?
