Newbie coding question about CAFD files in a newly installed hitch (aag) module: in ESYS I noticed the aag module currently has no CAFD file. Can I inject the file by coding the module (right click > code) using psdzdata lite or do I have to flash it (using the full psdzdata)?

OK so actually I used some different search terms and it looks like the procedure to inject a CAFD is:

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read ECU(VCM) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD matching from latest I-Level Shown => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

I'll give this a shot.

[EDIT] - this worked brilliantly!

Anyone know if you can code european hazards on F-series cars? I had done it on my e92.

Not that much changed, but you are welcome to create your own and share with everyone. Cheat sheet is a group effort.

Accidentally Coded DME HELP

Hello guys,

I own a X5 F15.

I accidentally coded the DME CAFD file, didn't chage anything, I just inadvertently right clicked on it and then clicked on code.

I'm worried because the program prompted a window at the end with one error.
Car seems fine, it showed ESP and P Brake warning but after ignition off and on no warnings and the car runs with no apparent problems.

Should I be worried?

Just finished coding my wife's 2014 and my 2016. Couple things to note... My software was just updated at the dealer to the latest so I needed the 4.24.12 software for it to read the CAFD files.

On the x5 I was able to add 2TB (SPORT+), Fold Mirrors, HUD Turn Signals, Digital Speedo, Video in Motion, Warnings removed, VLD, Fogs whenever, and Rolls Royce chimes.

On the X6, however, the modules and coding were different. I was still able to do almost all of the HU_NBT2 stuff; did the digital speedo, VLD, fogs whenever, and rolls royce chimes, but there were no options in HKFM to close the trunk, HUD turnsignals didn't work because I have 6WB (as the cheat sheet said), and a couple other things were already set from the factory like bright DRL's, NAVI_AUTOZOOM, and TCM_LOGIC_R_OFF_DOOR.

Also on either car, I wasn't able to get KOMBI/HUD logo changed to anything but BMW. (DKOMBI with 6WB).

I may spend some time with Google Translator to see what else I can decipher.

Anyone finding that some settings conflict with others?

I'm seeing that coding some settings, for example, shutoff radio/nav conflicts with the comfort access "close windows and mirrors with FOB". When I set this, unless the radio/nav is on, the fob wont work. Anyone have a definitive list of conflicts like this?

I can't seem to set the logo on my X5 either. Not sure if I've got the right setting - which reminds me. I'm seeing different FDL cheat XML's that have different settings in them. Looking for a "known good" list.

I might remake the F15 cheat sheet spreadsheet with tabs for older vs newer modules and known good stuff.

Nothing should change on the DME CAFD - it will just reapply the same settings back again.

I've often found errors are related to timeouts. Usually happens when the system partially shuts down. Make sure before you code that the system is "on" and you have a fresh connection.

Don't bother. Just go buy ESYSX. It works just as great and you'll get instant response.

That would be super helpful. I'll upload what I'm currently using...which is largely based on Almaretto's version. I did find that the close mirrors/roof/windows didn't work in Almaretto's original version so found the right settings to add. Also found that the 'Engine Start/stop with no brake' setting actually causes the X5 to not start at all lol. Good reason to make sure you backup your CAFD's before starting coding

Has anyone changed the oil change interval via coding? I'm wanting to start changing the oil at 5k miles instead of the typical (10k ?) mileage default value. I've found a couple of threads that sort of address doing this but don't give any specifics.

For VLD on F15. Is it just to remove 8S4 and VO code the relevant tree. I have xenon adaptive and did some FDL coding, now it does move sideways when I steer but not sure if the beam changes vertically depending on speed. Would that work only if you remove 8S4?

Just read the first post in the thread man.

2. Variable Light Distribution: All you have to do is remove 8S4 from your FA, then VO Code BDC_Body. This is for both LED and Bi-Xenon.
