F15 sticky inner pull handle replacement

I can't seem to anything specifically about the F15 with regard to actually replacing the inner pull handle. All I'm finding is for the previous generation X5 in which the pull handle can be replaced in two minutes just with a few screws.

I got an ABS replacement part in from China to replace the sticky passenger door one but it came with zero instructions or tips.

Has anybody done the F15 yet? Is the process identical to the previous generation or must the entire panel come off? I've found some videos (in Chinese) of other BMW models and they're having to pull the entire panels off and melting tabs and crap off the back with heat guns.

I have to gather my tools up and drive an hour out this weekend to do this, so I'm trying to figure out what I'm getting myself into a head of time.

Apologies to raise this post again but anyone know the part number for the passenger door for right hand drive models. I'm in Australia.

I can only find the LHD version which is 51417292244.

Many thanks.

I am struggling with this issue too. I have the part I just can't get the actual handle off. I can get the two big screws out, but it seems stuck at the bottom. Is there a third screw? Any help would be appreciated.

Which door...driver or passenger...front or rear?

Thanks. I got that far but it won’t come out. Top left slides out but the bottom right is firmly attached. Is there a trick to loosening it?

You can't take take off the inner handle trim without removing the door panel theres a small circular plastic piece thats welded onto the back of trim that needs to be drilled into.

Edit:

Around 3:45 shows this, video isn't a F15/16 but it has the same round welded plastic that needs to be broken off

Correct but also need to break off welding pin's from new handle trim piece as shown above doesn't have to be a perfect cut I just used force and they broke off

Thanks again. Door panel easy to remove and replace or is there a high risk of messing it up?

used this video and was fairly simple

edit: just noticed this was for your passenger front door so it would be the same thing minus prying the cover for mini coin holder thing on driver sides armrest rather you would need to pop off the outer door handle trim (as shown above by Qsilver7) and unscrew 2 screws which you have already done

Thanks for all this info guys. I got lucky and it would seem someone already replaced this once because all I had to do was pop the leather trim and unscrew the 2x t20. Best $130 I ever spent haha.

Thanks for all of this great information guys. I'm usually over on the E92 M3 forum but the wife's X5 has a sticky passenger door handle. I was getting some vibes that she thought I was to blame - BUT - low and behold the phenomena of dissolving plastics is indeed a BMW thing across many different platforms. At least according to my YouTube and G00gle searching. I'm more of a mechanical fixer than interior trim stuff. I'm not looking forward to removing the door card. Anyone know if there was a recall on said passenger door handles on the F15/F16 body X5s? Nah, thought not.

Here's a solution I found which doesn't require the door card to be removed.

I searched the forum because I have sticky inner handles in my 2015 X5; I just ordered the easy replacement and hope they work well.
